I lived in AZ for more than 20 years. It's not so bad. At least when it gets hot you're not dripping sweat. Northern AZ stays pretty mild weather wise and it snows quite a bit up there. Phoenix on the other hand can get pretty miserable but I mean that more in the sense of the over crowding. I don't do crowds well.
