A simple install turned into a not so simple install. I am now running Mint but for some reason my video card had a tizz over this so I had to crawl under the desk to get to the side of the case and rip that one out... well there was the fur of 6 cats in there and I only have 2 cats. Moral of the story is a 15 minute job will always take 3 hours.

Uncle, I lived in Jersey for almost a year. Was glad to leave and sure the neighbors were glad to see me go too :D They put on makeup and heels just to walk down their driveway to get the mail..... I washed my clothes on a washboard in the bathtub and hung them in the trees in the front yard :D :D

Yea - I hear Ya' about "those" Jersey neighborhoods, however the majority of the neighbors I know would have actually been joining "You" in the front yard for a cup of coffee and the local gossip too . . . BTW: Just as an FYI - those neighbor who you mentioned actually were closeted "Washboard" people - Ya' just didn't know it all the time . . .

Uncle, I grew up in way northern NJ. Was about 15 minutes from ny state border and 25 from Pa

Okay - Although I have been a "NEW YORKER" ALL "My" Life even before I moved to NYC and even after moving out mandated to live in other areas - I was actually born in Newark ("Neck" if you are old enough and know the area) and lived, went to school, & worked almost all over the state as I was growing up . . . Some of the places I've lived in New Jersey - besides Newark - and worked were: Menlo Park; Manville; Stanhope/Cherry Lake; Lake Hiawatha; Whippany; Chester; Stillwater/Newtown; Parsippany/Lake Parsippany; Madison; Morristown; Bayonne/Jersey City; Montclair; North Arlington/Kearny; Passaic/Paramus; Hackensack; Teaneck and Lambertville . . . Just to name a few . . . BTW:There were so many other places I lived/worked too, since not only did "My" family move around A LOT and for a number of different reasons ("We" only lived in 2 homes longer then 5 years) - I guess I carried on the tradition and never really stayed in one place to long either . . .

But I always made them "My" Home no matter how short or long I lived there . . . AND - Now, WELL - at the moment, I have no other choice - NOT Really A HOME, Just An Apartment Where I Reside . . .

I think I have things back to where they should be in computerland but won't say that too loudly as I have a feeling that very soon I am going to have to stick another video card in this machine. Asked the kid and he brought me 3 boxes so I guess I have a choice when the time comes LOL

Apartment living is not for me. I am too big of a pack rat for that. Hubby goes through and tries to throw some of my treasures away from time to time but I put a stop to that real fast. Not sure what his problem is.... I need every piece of string I tear from the tops of the bags of feed and the empty kleenex boxes that I use for trash cans in the car.

Anyway, Good Night Tree People and hope tomorrow is a good day for you.

Lynzy...hope your birthday is a good one :)

GMO... you are in my thoughts *hugs*

5. What a small world! I'm really close to Lambertville. My biggest gripe about NJ is the overpopulation and ridiculously high cost of living. If my family weren't here, I definitely would move. Other than that, there are some good folk out there, you just have to look for them :)

Matter of fact, I will be down there tomorrow night staying with one of "My" Best Friend's until Wednesday then I go to Philly to see some more of "My" Best Friends there too (Yes - I lived, went to Temple '94 - '97 for Undergrad then '97-'98 Masters, & Worked in Philadelphia also before I moved to Florida) . . . I will go to the Airport to get "My" flight back to Florida (Which BTW is the the exact same flight that crashed at the airport a few weeks ago and I take every trip . . . :nun: . . . Guess Ya' can say I am a creature of habit . . . ) . . . :D

Which reminds "Me" . . .
