Paradise FOUND
ya like found?
i do too :)

it was the original plan for paradise lost to have a sequel.

lil background about Paradise Lost.
I think it was may of 2009, and was on the same desert plot as the desert party i did last month (after-which i flipped the car..).
The show was a huge success, the largest event i had done at that time, and the largest desert party i have ever thrown until Liberation.
PL was a 2 stage outdoor desert party, 45 miles from tucson by the infamous Bioshpere 2. I brought in several djs from outta state, however none of them very famous. 3 traveled from new Mexico in an suv and crashed at my apartment before and after. I flew in my friend from Oklahoma to play, and several phoenix djs.
i had a strange concept for the show, the main stage was a large mixed genre stage under a huge geodesic dome made from pvc pipe, rope and a parachute. the 2nd stage was smaller, and was ONLY HOUSE MUSIC. Needless to say, the main stage was bumping.
As fate would have it, there was another rave going on in phx that night that was a bust. it didnt get busted, but the consensus was overpriced and lame; this sent a epic surge of phoenix party kids to PL, pushing us around the 700 mark.
The show became a little chaotic, i had untrained youngsters working the entrance working entry sales. missed out on a lot of cash as a result of their inexperience. this was my fault, as i hadnt expected the big influx of people at midnite! Went from 3-400 and doubled by 1am! The show was a big success. An epic night of dance music debauchery that instilled a lot of motivation and was a driving force of my company (Tru-Vibe) that was in its first year at the time.
Behind the scenes, my ex-girlfriend and my business partner all 3 split up days before the event. They cut their investment in the show 2 days prior, leaving me to scramble to coordinate the entire gig on my own (i have since become accustomed and prefer this) and come up with additional cash resources. I still comped them to the show, of which they painfully regretting pulling out from. They wished they could share in the credit and the profits, but by backing out, they got neither. The show was a financial success, and made more in profits than any of my shows for over a year following.
By the end of the night, Tru-Vibe Collective established itself as tucson's premiere event and artist label. It was an incredible night, that still reverberates sweetly through the nostalgia of dancefloors-past.
