Good morning TreeFam... not impressed with the weather but guess it is what it is... I will probably end up spending the day looking for just the right batts and tanks for hubby. I will end up getting him 2 650 batts because he likes the shorter ones and maybe a dozen tanks. Sometime when he travels, he is away 3 wks or more before coming back long enough for me to do laundry for him. He won't clean tanks or change coils so will send him enough that he can just pull out another and then I will deal with them when he gets home. With the one and only juice he uses, he should at least get 2 fills before changing tanks. .

Dan... if you stop by long enough and stop rhyming... maybe I/We can help you with your tank problems.

Good Morning everyone!
Well today seems to be ok so far. Baby only wants go-gert for breakfast, blue go-gert (nothing else). So blue go-gert it is! Oh plus only bubble guppies or dora will do for tv. She also likes books so we have several lined up to read after bubble guppies. Think I'll just sit back with her today and enjoy looking outside at the new green leaves and try to imagine that it is not so cold out. ;)

Part of the reason that I keep up with this stuff is professional (LOL, yeah, I watch TV for a living!). . . I teach film and popular culture.

#1. Good morning/afternoon tree peeps!! Hope everyone is having a good day and all is well. I'm just happy I already got my taxes filed before today. I tend to procrastinate about things like this.

Obviously, I do, too. The good news is that I just did all the computations, and I"m getting a decent refund. Honestly, one of the reasons that I tend to wait until April 15th is that I don't want to give the government of Puerto Rico any more money until it is absolutely necessary. I also know from 13 years of filing taxes in Puerto Rico that filing early does not speed up my refund. Last year it arrived in July--and that's pretty standard. I used to call to ask about the status (read: complain), but I've learned to just accept it.

The worst part about filing at the last minute in Puerto Rico is that I need to personally take my taxes to the Department of Hacienda (Treasury, in English). It can be mailed, but then there is no proof that they were filed--and Hacienda has a bad reputation for losing things. So, most people go to Hacienda with two copies--the official copy, and a copy copy--and demand that Hacienda puts a stamp on both. It's a bit of a PITA, although the last time I did this on the 15th it was kind of a party atmosphere at Hacienda--lots of music, booths (including free Tylenol which makes me laugh). . .

One year I actually deducted a portion of my cable bill as a professional expense. It helps that several of the articles I've published were about specific TV shows or films. . . Sadly, the legislature here eliminated the generous deductions for teachers/professors, and added deductions for people with chauffeurs and luxury cars (I'm not kidding).

It's not quite that hot here today, but boy is it sticky! The humidity is off the chart today.

3 Any time I have to do something like that, I go with the attitude that I'm gonna make friends! It's amazing how much you can learn about people while you're waiting in line with them for (an hour, two hours, ever...). I once had to stand in line for about 18 hours to get a new cell phone (when Cingular bought Suncom). I was on base, in the Exchange (well, outside then inside, as the line snaked). Eventually people had to pee, or eat, or change a baby's diaper. We took turns going for coffee, bringing back lunch, babysitting. It was awesome!

Good morning, friends!

I didn't get to it last night, but I'm looking forward to it today. It will be my reward for doing my taxes (albeit at the last possible minute). I loved the season premiere--Arya was bad ...!

I don't have them either. . .

You're half right--crackers are no no (although I've got some recipes for low carb crackers made with either almond flour or chia--the chia crackers don't sound very appealing, though), sour cream is not a problem--and, I used plenty to tone things down.

#5. I was not sure how far you took your high protein diet.
Cheese helps too if you eat it ;)

I'm pretty hard core about the grains--especially until I'm getting closer to my goal weight (and I'm far from it now). Yeah, I eat cheese--way too much cheese, frankly. If I had to pick one food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be cheese. And while it's low carb--those calories add up quickly!

But, as of this morning, I've lost six pounds since I started dieting two weeks ago. When I was younger, I would lose six pounds in the first couple of days. . . I can barely see those days in my rear-view mirror now. I could be frustrated about it, but I'm really pleased.

I like you attitude, Ms. P! Sometimes that's a little tricky for me because I'm not fluent in Spanish, but I do my best!
