1. G'mornin' y'all! A beautiful day 'tis gonna be here in mid-MO. I'm pulling a sickie from work. Yesterday did this ol' body in. On my feet in heels all day, welcoming and serving guests for Earth Day/Firefighters Day/State Fire Marshal's retirement. My feets is swollened, my back aches. I'm just gonna hang out here till I feel hooman again and can face my homework.
4 I fibbled.
Thought it was going to be bright and sunny, but it's kind of overcast. Still, it's going to be 75. Think I should get outdoors after a while and see what I can do. If my feet/legs/back will let me. lol

Laundry day here too. Think I will make potato soup tonight for supper. Still have leftover ham and it is ramp season and will toddle out and get a couple to go in there and have some corn left in the freezer.

Ramps are a garlic/leek/onion -y plant that come up early in spring. They grow wild and are really fussy about their growing conditions. I have them growing in my woods and there are more on my mountain too. The Ramp Fest here is this Saturday.
Ramp Festivals, Feast of the Ramson, Wild ramps and leeks is what it is all about.

As I mentioned, I have another day off because the students have barricaded the university to protest a proposed tuition increase. Fortunately, this is only a one day thing. There have been a couple of student strikes that have lasted for weeks. Honestly, it's fine with me because I really am not in the mood to listen to speeches today!
It's a vegetable. Sort of onion-like.
