Manic Monday Madness Malevolence....... Molepeople

Hate comin back to the office on mondays

decent weekend, semi-productive.

water is being turned on at the Lounge today. My awesome new maintenance man has assured me everything is inexpensively and easily serviceable. I guess he was handyman for a big apartment complex for many moons.
he is more than honest and skilled, he is just happy to be involved in the project! he is a local dj and friend, and i trust him.
also pulled one of my oldest friends as a manager. although for legal reasons, she wont hold this title for quite some time. she'll be 1099 and parttime, but will be the only one trained to do ordering and books etc....
lots of secondary staff on deck.

staffing is probably the easiest part.

also, very cool, a friend of mine, dj on my label for many years, will be lending me a bunch of speakers, lighting turntables, mixer!
and this is the high-end, top of the line stuff. not sure ill even be comfortable leaving it there. pioneer CDJ-2000s, DJM-600, 2 Mackie 3-ways and much more.

still waiting on the LLC to clear..

other updates.... hmmm.

1600$ deposit for electric company. that is pretty outrageous.... even split over a few months, a huge unexpected expense.
the water deposit? > only 200$....

i am seeking out a depository safe. something heavy duty that can bolt into the ground.
costco has one on their website for ~300$. and some non depository heavy duty ones closer to 200..

LD make sure your insurance covers the dj equipment!
good call JP! absolutely, i have already requested the serial numbers from him.
i dont have the policy yet. to rec a quote i needed to answer questions about building maintenance that i need the landlord to answer for me. i may find a quote elsewhere, there is a local friend that has an insurance company. but id rather get an outside quote first, to have some leverage :)

LD- sounds like you have things under control- but don't quit your day job till you see a profit...

also great advice!
problem is, if i continue to work my office job while the lounge is open, i am essentially working here to pay a employees to run the shop. almost dollar for dollar.
the unoffical plan is to put my 2 weeks notice in when i am confident we are 1 week away form opening. for my last week at the office ill use my remaining vacation days (which will prob be about 3-4) so that i have a small amount of overlap.
