Was 47F when I got up this morning. All went well yesterday and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so guess that is all that matters.

Hubby is off on a short trip again but will be back Monday perhaps and then leaves again Thursday for a week or so... Hard to keep track of him in the summer months

It is all quiet here except for my washer. Quiet is nice at times. I have gotten everything cleaned up from yesterday except still need to sweep but that is easy when everyone isn't under foot...

Where I lived in Alaska, we celebrated the 4th for a month really. They did a 4th of July Queen every year and the candidates sold tickets but they also did food carts on the street and with a purchase, you also got tickets for the raffle. All the monies were collected from all the candidates with the one bringing in the most being the Queen and getting half the total as a college scholarship and the rest going for the raffle prizes of boats, trucks, all sorts of things, with items also being donated by the merchants too. The week of the 4th was also the logging events and a week long celebration. The tug boat races used to be my favorite because they are so slow and unwieldy.

Time to get a start to a busy day. Got to go to Home Depot for the free kids event (and pick up a connection fix for a hose) and then my daughter has a birthday party for one of her friends at the skating rink. It sucks to have a birthday right after a holiday. One of my friends has his birthday today, too.

I got a great view of the fireworks show here and all of the shows on TV before it began...then the fun show really began.....all of the crowd that was down watching it had to drive home...it was bumper to bumper for hours after....quite entertaining......but they were good and didn't seem like they were in a hurry....
