RR sounds like me...........I am allergic to most shellfish and don't care for fish at all....While I am not really a vegetarian...I just prefer not to eat anything that has been tortured......I would have to say that since I cut way down on my meat intake I am much healthier...and I don't get sick as often.....but once in awhile I splurge on some humanly raised beef.... because I love my meatloaf...but since discovering what I can do with mushrooms....I don't miss it as much....

But enough of that...I don't' want to be a downer on everyone who is/will be enjoying their turkey dinner....

I'm pretty much omnivorous. I'm as happy with all-vegetarian meals as with meat-heavy meals. Seafood is a favorite. I have noticed, however, that I cannot eat as voraciously as I used to--mostly because I just start to feel full sooner. I suppose that means there will just be more leftovers.... :)

Well, my father in-law has arrived, so I now need to go play host for the rest of the day. Pleasant holiday dining, everyone!

I don't think it's a downer to state your preference. Only when people try to cram their beliefs down other people's throat that it becomes negative. For me, it wasn't a political decision. I just never liked the taste and texture of meat, so my parents stopped forcing me to eat it by age 7. I still eat crispy bacon from time to time. ;)

Have a great Tday, Count!

3. Well dinner was delicious...my DIL did a great job! And I didn't eat too much either...I'm usually overstuffed, but I only had the one plate and didn't overload it...now I have to get my stuff together and head to the BFs house...maybe that's why I didn't stuff myself, because I know I still have to eat over there....hope everyone has had a great day and has a great evening...I probably won't be back on tonight, so I'll wish you all a Good evening/night now!

So glad to be home! My sister in law doesn't allow smoking or vaping in her house, I felt like I did when I smoked, going outside in 30 degree weather to vape. I'm really glad it only happens once a year!

That's too bad you had to go outside. When I was back last month nobody had an issue with it. Had to provide some education cause they didn't know much about it. They were just happy I wasn't smoking any more.

Dinner was great. I ended up making my special brussel sprouts, with bacon, scallions, cilantro and deglazed with a touch of Makers Mark. For the main course, we went a little different, and had duck. It was my first time having duck, and it was really good, even my kids loved it.

I'm sorry your SIL wouldn't let you vape, jpf, I lucked out and my folks had no problem with it. Even my militant anti smoking 13 year old nephew had nothing bad to say.

Overall, it's been a great Thanksgiving. I'm so thankful to have my family so close, and thankful to have my great treefam to share the holidays with.

Sorry, that's bunk! Since it is only once a year, she could have at least let you vape in the laundry room or a bathroom, etc.

It is official, I am skipping Christmas.
Still had to step outside because my pumpkin spice may stink up the house. I walk back in and my cousin is sitting there with his Blu imitation that smells like Marlboros and my mom said it smells pleasant!!!!
My cousin never smoked and is now doing e-cigs for fun, actually both of them are @ 12mg and everyone thinks its the .....
Yet quitting with it is a waste of time?

I did " use the bathroom " a couple times, but I usually have my vape attached to my hand all day. I made it through it though! My old job I could use it as long as I wasn't talking to a customer, my new job I think is going to be a lot stricter! That'll take some getting used to!
Being able to vape can be challenging at other people's houses and with employers. Glad you made it through. I hope your new job isn't too strict. At worst, they may insist that you wait for breaktime, which is what mine does. :glare:

2. Had a good Thanksgiving today. Hubby cooked and I ate, took a nap and ate again. I'm stuffed and happy. We have the Christmas tree up and decorated.

I've been looking online for Christmas presents and can't find a single thing I want to buy. I found a couple of things I wanted, but they weren't available online and there is no way I'm going out with all the crazy people just to buy a couple of toys cheaply. I'm so used to having everything bought and wrapped and under the tree on Thanksgiving, it's weird to just be getting started.

I'm Thankful I didn't have to work today, being in retail my whole life I've never been able to actually enjoy a relaxing Thanksgiving! Today was just that (except for going outside to vape), now me and Wifey are getting ready to watch The Big Bang that I recorded earlier. Because of always having to work I never get to go shopping on Black Friday and I'm not going to start now!
