Safe travels, Angel!

Anyone know if the new Kanger Subtank would work with an MVP?

No, it wont work on the MVP. I've heard you need at least 20 watts, but that 30 watts is the sweet spot. My istick is 20watts but wont fire below 1 ohm so I can't use my atlantis on it.

The sweet spot is where you like it best. Ohm's law calculator will tell you what wattage your getting with a certain voltage on a certain ohm coil. For example on a 0.5 ohm coil 3.2 volts will be putting out 20.48 watts. So technically my iStick should fire a 0.5 ohm coil if I had the voltage turned down to 3 volts because that would only be about 18 watts. However most regulated devices have built in safety system that regulate how low of a coil they'll fire so you don't fry the boards in them. I hope I just made sense. I understand the electric principles but I have a hard time explaining them. Sub-ohm is any coil below 1 ohm regardless of the wattage.

A mechanical mod has no electronics in them but you need a battery that is capable of handling higher current drains to safely fire a coil below 1 ohm.

Robin, the subtank also comes with a 1.2-ohm coil (which can also be purchased) or you could make a 1+ ohm coil in with the rba section, so--theoretically--you could use it with the MVP2 or MVP20Watt. I suspect you are in a similar position as I--I would like to get higher level device than my MVPs and Vamo, but with the rush of new toys coming out, are not sure where to go. The list is quite long (I think they're keeping track of many of them on the APV forum). Front-runners for me include (but are not limited to) the iStick 50 Watt and MVP3, with consideration still being given to such possibilities as the Cloupor Mini and a few others....

Time for me to trundle off to bed after a little bit of TV. Good night, Treefam!

Jpf, that made sense to me.. thank you!

Count, I'm in the same situation and looking at the same devices as you are. I keep going back and forth on what I want next. I think I want at least a 50 watt device. I have the CF Mod that I use for the Atlantis tank, but I like the box mods and vv/vw better and would like to have something I could use with my other tanks also.

If I were to be in a position to purchase a mod right now I would like a IPV2 from pioneer, I think that's what it's called or the new mini form of it. 50 watts is more than enough for me. On my nemesis clone I never go below .8 or .7 ohms which is only about 25 watts on a full battery charge, plenty warm enough and big enough clouds for me.

Looks like MPS has gotten lazy with our mail again. The couple things I got last week took a bit longer than they should have - was getting ready to put in tickets when they showed up. Today I checked tracking on everything and there's a couple that got into Chicago over a week ago - those should have been here by now. If they don't show up tomorrow I'll be looking at putting tickets in. This is getting old and turning into a real PITA.
