Back from the ballet showcase. I almost missed both of my daughter's performances: parking was terrible, so I got there a few minutes late but managed to catch the performance before intermission. After the intermission my son started to agitate about having to go to the bathroom (even though he went during intermission)... and wouldn't you know it: we got back to the seat just as my daughter was exiting the stage. At least my wife got to see it.

Jambalaya... YUMMY!
We had a guy here about 10 years ago that would bring a big pot of it into work every so often - never lasted very long.

The showcase takes place in a large theater in the middle of Balboa Park (sort of the San Diego equivalent of Central Park, with lots of museums and other cultural activities) and is open to the public through two showings, so it makes sense. And, I'll be honest, the only thing that makes my daughter's performance special is because I'm her dad--she isn't a soloist or anything. I guess my wife was a little ticked off, because she told my son to apologize to me for making me miss it when we got home. We might have made it back in time had he not stopped to picked up a penny from the floor beneath the next urinal over...

5. Count, I've been to Balboa Park...lovely place, really enjoyed it...too bad about you couldn't see her performance, but I'm sure there will be more for you to see later.
Dinner was delicious...and add to that a "big drink", so now I'm down for the count...will see you guys tomorrow...no telling what I might post in this state!

Thanks, Angel. It actually doesn't bother me too much--it's more my son, since it's his way of acting out without actually acting out.
