He's crazy like a fox. Or is that FOX? The man is an actor. He's gotten extremely rich off of his act, supported by gullible hateful, fearful people. Sorry brooke. He's not the real deal you think he is.

BTW, this should've been posted in the OUTSIDE, IMO. Nice to see that it's gotten so little response. It's a tired old subject.

About ten years ago I was listening to a talk radio program which promoted a conservative agenda as most of them do. I can not recall if it was Beck or one of the other broadcast conservative megalomaniacs. In my opinion it really does not matter because they are all spreading the same rubbish.

From the late eighties through the nineties I listened to approximately 200,000 hours of this type of programming. On this particular night the host made a comment that I nearly could not believe I was hearing. This guy in all seriousness said that if you are at least 40 years old and you do not make 100 K a year or better then you are a looser.

This is the mindset of the Republican leadership and there lackeys. I believe that people who make less than 100 K do not find much benefit in many of their fiscal policies. I honestly believe they do not have a sufficent level of respect for ( how did that oil executive put it ? ) oh yeah "The little people".

Maybe that was not a conservative, or a Replublican, or even a Democrat. He may have been speaking as an economist. And he's probably right, especially in this climate. Anyone making less than 100K are spending all they make on just necessities. No need for fiscal policy, there, except for one: pay bills first! then frills!
And the little people comment came from an oil executive.

It's amazing to me how many people hate him who have never listened to him.

Oh I've listened to him plenty. Back BEFORE he'd gotten all of the fame. At first I liked him, he had a good libertarian stance on things, but he's since gotten the $$ in his eyes, and either is acting, or has gone nuts. And he has some weird fetish for Nazi's.

He's just another talking head on the TV now.

So far, the points I've seen hear about him just don't ring true. Money has gone to his head? Please provide SPECIFIC examples of money going to his head. He's acting and not being sincere? Please provide SPECIFIC examples of what anyone would consider acting. Yes, I've seen him cry, but so what? Not enough speak with the courage of their conviction anymore. No matter what someone says or does, there will always be someone else out here to say he's acting, he's money hungry, he's this, he's that .... anything BUT someone who truly believes in what he says.

I don't agree with everything Beck has to say. He gets on the religion kick FAR too much for me and I change the channel when he gets going on that because I fundamentally disagree that faith, hope and charity must be attached to a religious belief. However, he is the only one I've ever seen to at least historically prove what he's saying many times. The chalkboard and what not that for some reason just gets on people's nerves (something to whine about I guess - that devious chalkboard) is a good tool to visually show the dots connecting on what he's saying. Do I agree with how he interprets some of what he points to? No, of course not. I will admit I agree with much of what he says though. I've been waiting a long time for someone to finally stand up and publicly say what a HORRIBLE person Woodrow Wilson was too, because I studied plenty on him long ago!

Don't be mistaken here either. I also watch Keith Olbermann, and agree with a little of what he has to say but not most. But we must be open minded enough to at least hear both sides. Is Olbermann filthy rich? Yep he is. Do I think it's gone to his head and he's acting when he blows off on one of his many foot stomping tirades? Nope, I believe he's got the courage of his conviction whether I agree with him or not.

But then, I've voted for folks in both parties. That's kind of what being Independent means. I'm more conservative than anything, but not on everything. Socially actually I'm probably far too liberal for some. But, say I started a radio show, and holy crap ended up with a TV show. Then all of a sudden I'd be accused of acting and the $$$$ going to my head right? Beck has always cried like a wuss, even back when he wasn't anything near what he is now. He really hasn't changed at all.

Okay, I'm going to watch Fox for a few, then I need to make my daily visit to Media Matters and the Daily Kos .... LOL .... both sides suck and both sides have great points sometimes, and that IS the point in the end.

Glen Beck sells outrage and nothing else. Lacking content his only product is panic and fear. Democrat and Republican "journalists" don't want to save our country because it would make them irrelevant if they actually achieved it. They don't have any skills other then making people afraid. They just want something to rant, cry and scream about.

Please note that I think MSNBC and Fox are just two sides to the same evil coin. They both delight in turning Americans against each other IMO.

I started out agreeing with you. I would note one enormous difference between the two, other than their orientation. Fox makes every effort to portray themselves as a legitimate news source, "Fair and Balanced" is their tag line. Clearly, it is a lie. On the other hand, MSNBC's tag line is,
"The Place for Politics" ... at least, that is much more honest, don'tcha think?

That is true. Plus I find Rachel Maddow to be very smart and she does draw attention to things like infrastructure which I think are important. However, spending a large quantity of their news time reacting to Fox news is useless, and plays into the outrage game. Someone needs to elevate the conversation to one that is respectful and useful. I seriously wish their was some push to get Americans working together instead of this horrible divisiveness. It keeps us distracted from the real problems we face.

Oy, okay, I need to bow out of this thread, LOL! Sells outrage - oh my gosh he's a mad citizen with a tv show and he lets you know he's mad! OH MY GOD the HORROR! Maddow, no different - good points and bad, but could be accused of every single thing said about others. Fox is no more "fair and balanced" than, well, some clever metaphor I can't think of right now. MSNBC just plain makes crap up or edits it to show it as somethign it's not. I'm gonna start a youtube channel to express my views as a regular American citizen. Then I might get a radio show. Then maybe a TV show! But then I guess I'd be accused of not being the regular American citizen who simply had somethign to say and got successful doing it because a whole bunch agreed. On second thought, I think I'll stick to forums and personal conversations so no one else hears me really. That must be it after all - popularity and success = insincerity, whether that's true or not.

lol Glenn Beck, the guy with Nazi Tourettes. I don't get how anybody can take that guy seriously. Especially when he says he's "Going to reclaim the civil rights movement". What kinda horse crap is that? Straight up disrespect. Dude needs to be locked up in a padded room. And yes I've watched him and wish I could have that time back.

I have to say this, because it ...... me off.

It's like getting ...... because someone else copied your work, even though your work was copying someone else's work and tidying it up a bit before sharing it.

The video you posted is a repost (exact, frame to frame) of one of my posts, right down to the a verbatim copy of the Title. "Someone" then raised a copyright issue with my posting of it, causing it to be removed.

It was removed? That was a great thread. And Beck is about as phoney as they come.
