Is there a glue that is safe and durable to glue rubber grommets to a polypropylene tube for a tank?
Yo vapo, That's my gripe, too. Why do you think it may not stick?
Yeah, I saw your (or someone's) thread about polypropylene tubing for tanks. Looks interesting; I'm a little concerned about chemicals reacting with polycarbonate.
Yep, I need to go to home depot too, to see if they have 5/8" ID PP tubing. I noticed PP (I think it was PP) tubing in there the other day; dunno why I didn't check it out. <duh>
Did you search for that same adhesive elsewhere?
Good luck
I like this thread my4jewels. Good idea. I've wasted to much juice doing a hot switch and what not with these tanks. I still use them, but the mom and pops sub tank is easier to use b/c it has the screw and the carto sits better in the rubber grommets IMO. If this works I may get better use out of my DCTs.
I still can't find the polypropylene for these DCTanks. On the glue front, I'm going to try this: eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices. I haven't got it yet. I hope it works. If not, I have already started to research food safe epoxy.
There must be a way to secure a rubber grommet to a tube of polypropylene. If, for some reason, this experiment fails, I have found stainless steel washers that have a 3/8" id and a 3/4" od. That could be glued to the topside of the rubber grommet so that the endcap doesn't silde in and out when refilling and switching cartos.
