There must be a way to secure a rubber grommet to a tube of polypropylene. If, for some reason, this experiment fails, I have found stainless steel washers that have a 3/8" id and a 3/4" od. That could be glued to the topside of the rubber grommet so that the endcap doesn't silde in and out when refilling and switching cartos.
I like your thinking.

I've had a thought bouncing around in my head for a while (I guess it's gotten lonely and wants to come out and play :D):

How about taking a metal washer that's at least the same diameter as the outside of the tank tubing and gluing it to the outside edge (side?) of the grommets? You should be able to use any type of adhesive since it wouldn't be in contact with the e-liquid. Just have to find an adhesive that would stand up to the force for pushing the cartos through the grommets.

This would form end caps similar to the delrin end caps of the DCTanks.

Too funny, check post #18 in this thread, LOL. I never tried it. I would still try to use some type of food safe glue, just to be safe.
I went ahead and started a coop for the DCTanks with polypropylene tubing instead.
