Hello friends,

I'm at a bit of a crossroads here. A while back I spent a good deal of money on a GLV super mini, two cr123 batts, and a charger. I loved it so much and it served me quite well. The problem I have is that the cr123 batteries just don't cut it for full day longevity, and the super mini doesn't take a decent size tank without an adapter. I've actually reverted to using my two 650mah spinners with clearos so I don't have to drip constantly. I have looked into getting the larger battery tube from GLV but for a 18650 size they want $50 :( and for the same price I can get a bolt or similar (which needs no adapter) with two large batteries and charger.

So my questions are:

1) Should I get rid of the mini and get something larger that I will actually use regularly?
or
2) Bite the bullet and get the GLV tube and and extra equipment needed for longer use? (or try to find/ fabricate an extension myself)

problem is I dont think the GLV SM has a resistor in it. So while yes Can throw on the 5v tube....it will lack the 5v resistor chip. Which...some like and is a problem for others.

I adore GLV's personally..but yes the button placement is a PITA with the current trends of tanks ect. Some RBAs like the phoenix, cyclone/scar work without an adapter.

Though everyone needs more then one mod. To much can go wrong, one needs back ups.

In laymans.......if your stack to batteries.....the out put is changed to the combined voltage. So two 3.7 batteries.......at least at first will put out 7.4 after a while settle down to 6vs. Which is higher then one really wants to go. With a regular the old standards attys with a 2.0-2.5 resistance it works just fine....lower 1.0- 1.5 it will burn..if not short.

the resister in the glv 5v is kinda "famous" as it puts out the same output no matter whats put on top....(good thing)

If you wanted to go that route I'd talk to Jay and Sara....know they would put a resister in there for a small fee.
