I'm using FF and it brings me to the top of the last page. Is that by design? Not that bad considering I would need to login anyway to interact. EDIT: see likes, etc.

I think Roly may be optimistic in thinking that this is something to do with the software forgetting things prior to the server update. The first unread issue as well as being returned to the first page of a thread after posting is something that is happening with threads started after the server update. It's also happening with older threads that I've returned to a couple of times since the completion of the update. I posted a reply indicating this in the Back Online thread hoping that it will catch someone's attention who can fix the issues.
This time it brought me to the "New Post". May take awhile for everything to sync to the new equipment.

Same here. Cleared cache and cookies and same result. Thought it might start working again on threads that I make a new post in, but nope
It's working ok for me on shorter threads, less than 10 pages. But the one I use the most has over 500 pages, so it just keeps going to page number one. Is someone trying to tell me I spend too much time on here

You are correct. I just checked and it does seem to work on the shorter threads but fails on longer threads.
I've found that if I leave a thread open on the last page and reload after I get an email notification that a new post has been added that the View First Unread link appears and works correctly. However, clicking on the thread link in the email notification takes me to the first page of the thread with no link for View First Unread appearing. The same thing happens if I use the "Go to the first new post" link in the thread listings for a forum.
Hope I haven't jinxed myself. But everything seems back to normal for me now. Showing my last post from page 500 on the thread now
Yeah, it looks like it may be a problem with any thread that is more than one page?
My settings are 40 posts per page and I just had it work with a new thread that has 37 posts.
So that was less than one page.
I'll continue to keep an eye out for what does and does not work.

Worked properly for me in this thread just now, went right to the post I would expect to see first. However, the Back On thread (which is definitely a "new" one), only takes me to the last page. I have to suss out based on time which ones are new to me.
Sonic - If I navigate to the thread by clicking on the thread title in the list on the forum page and if the thread is less than one page long the View First Unread link appears and works correctly.
However, if I do the same thing and the thread is longer than one page I get taken to the first page.
