I had it for like two weeks it sucked! People will chime in with all sorts of remedy's the only thing Ive found to cure it is time. The best remedy I read was brush your tong with Tabasco sauce. If you try that one please make a video and post;-) I used a cinnamon and menthol juice to get me threw it was the only thing I could taste. Even that varys from person to person.

Welcome to the club! I've had it for about 5 days. Make the best of the situation.
Vape the juices you hate since you can't taste them!

For me, it was more of a progressive thing. My juices started tasting more and more muted, until I couldn't taste them. I vape different juices all the time, so it couldn't have been one specific juice causing the issue.

I think only time will heal it...... Hopefully.

I'll have to disagree with those recommending strong tastes due to my own experience. The buds are already overly taxed from stronger and more flavor than they're used to dealing with. Nothing, but nothing, will work them like vaping does. They need rest and lots of hydration to come out of shock so to speak. Science says that every 10 days we get a whole new set of buds. Keep your own log and you'll see this is true. Try to avoid really strong tastes for a day or two while drinking or swishing lots of water or other low-flavor liquid. Change your juices often... vary it a lot... for example: like sweet to tart, bakery to tobacco. Basically what you're doing is giving one set a rest while the other set works. Hope that helps.

Edit: when you're at this for a while, you'll find that your taste gets more and more sensitive actually... both to vaping and to foods. You may go for more muted flavors then as others are just blow your palate.. (put your buds in shock). That's what happened to me anyway.

clean your palate, drink TONS of water, when you vape...try to angle the nozzle away from your tongue, as in the vapor goes up and over (increases throat hit) not hitting your tongue directly...switch up your flavors...all day vapes are good but just like any flavor...eventually you will saturate the taste receptors that "taste" the particular juice, and will eventually turn down

Oh and brush your tongue...it helps (ask me how I know ;) )

I just go over having it for almost 2 weeks on the dot. The only things I could taste were menthol and hot cinnamon.

To be honest, I tried all the remedies including hot sauce, pickles, biotene... you name it. Since I had it for 2 weeks I can't really say anything worked.

I kept drinking lots of water and brushing my tongue. Just yesterday morning I noticed I could start to taste a generalized sweetness again and by night time night I started tasting some flavors. Today I'm good to go and back to normal as far as I can tell, though I think I might still not be tasting vanilla based things right. Regardless it is a big relief.

It's VERY VERY frustrating and unsatisfying, I understand, but it does go away.
The weirdest part is having your body just suddenly betray you like that!

Can I make a suggestion here? Several of them to be exact.... I have noticed several postings on here about "Vaper's Tongue" and from what I have read its basically Thrush without the agonizing pain that comes with it. I get Thrush atleast once a year from my Symbicort Inhaler.

For the last 6 days I went through a similar thing. First 2 of the 6 foods began to taste different, my vape juice tasted like spoiled tea smells. I thought "OK so this is Vaper's tongue" Low and behold I had the beginning of a sinus infection.

From what I have read about Vaper's Tongue is that a lot of Drs. treat it as a form of Thrush (My Aunt is a Physician's Assistant and I have talked to her about this). My Aunt told me that what they have told 5 of their patients who are Vapers is Brush your tongue 4 times a day with a soft head tooth brush. The softer the better. You don't want to damage already damaged/inflamed or deadened taste buds. Use a strong tooth paste such as Colgate. Then rinse very thoroughly with Listerine each time. She said that they had 2 of the 5 come back with no results but they were what they in the office call Power Vapers. Sort of like Power Drinkers. LOL. Those 2 they had to put on antibiotics for Thrush which is a liquid antibiotic made up from 4 other antibiotics and taste very very very bad. And what is worse about this treatment is that every time you do it you have to hold the medicine in your mouth for up to 5 mins and you don't swallow this. I learned my lesson the first time with Actual Thrush from my Symbicort and now I rinse every time I have to use that inhaler.

And my aunt said HYDRATION HYDRATION HYDRATION.... Atleast 2 bottles of water a day or a good size bottle of Gatorade a day.

This is just a suggestion....

What I do is rinse with Listerine in the AM and at night before I go to bed. I also drink a bottle of Gatorade a day and depending on where you live with this heat wave for the next 10 days a bottle of Gatorade isn't a bad idea.

If you use Closys (can get it a Walgreens) it won't hurt like Listerine. Its like rinsing with water as far as how it feels on your tongue if you don't add the little vial of mint flavoring that comes with it. It kills all the germs in less than 5 seconds... not the minute swish it takes with Listerine. I'm so happy it was recommended to me. Use before bed and don't drink or eat anything after.

That is a very good suggestion. I knew there was something else that would kill the germ and had it on the tip of my tongue but couldn't think of it for the life of me. I hate it when that happens... Good Show patkin

I've been with vapers tongue since January. I've just reconciled the issue and chose to buy unflavored. This experience with vapers tongue has made me more aware of myself. My sense of taste has always been crap. I just didn't know it. I just always thought of eating as a burden. The foods i like had more to do with texture than taste. In reality, I never liked eating because I didn't taste much. I also have no memory of ever testing cigarettes either. I used to roll my eyes at the idea of a cigarette with the best taste.

I can also do strange things with food. Beef fajita with coconut oil? Baked potato with coconut instead of butter? I pour olive oil over steamed vegetables to balance a meal. I don't even taste the olive oil. In a way, it suits me. I'm able to take nutrition to a higher level than most can. And I like doing that more than tasting things.
