I think this is all hit or miss. I haven't travelled to Mexico so I can't comment specifically on that. I have travelled a bit with my Vamo, eGo, and eRoll as backups. Most of the time it is no big deal. This last trip, the Vamo got a lot of attention coming home. No big deal on most flights but this time I got stopped. They wanted to inspect backs, run the Vamo back through xray by itself, ask a lot of questions, swipe it for bomb residue, ask more questions. I told them what it was and if necessary, I would be happy to turn it on and demonstrate. I would be glad for the last second nicotine!

It seems to totally depend on the agent and the day. Good luck.

And interesting to hear that Mexico has banned this stuff. I did not know that.

Very true. Last weekend when returning from Mexico, a very young and aggresssive female CBP agent raised an alarm because of a plastic bottle of iced tea in an outside pocket of my bag. A brand from Mexico, but also sold in the US. It was unopened, she broke the seal, sniffed the contents, and then called her supervisor to inspect the "contraband" ...

He muttered something about non-carbonated soft drinks were not a problem and lumbered off ...

My eGo pen top was clearly visible in my shirt pocket, but thankfully did not arouse suspicion ...

I've been through Customs returning from Mexico hundreds of times, and I'm convinced that they make up their "rules" as they go along ...
