going to start making menthol juice

some friends of mine smoke menthol cigarettes. they also vape and are working on trying to quit cigarettes. i want to make them some menthol juice. i recently ordered some menthol extract from myfreedomsmokes, which is where i buy almost all of my DYI supplies. the menthol extract that i bought is supposed to added to a juice recipe and not a substitute for other extract. how much of this stuff do i need to use to satisfy their needs (i never smoked menthol and personally i always made it a point of staying away from menthol cigs)

so here is what i am thinking:
i use 60 MG strength nicotine as my nicotine base so
32% nicotine
56% PG
2% sweetener
5% flavoring extract
5% menthol additive extract

this will yield 19.2 MG strenght nicotine juice

is 5% about what i should use for the Flavor Apprentice Menthol extract or is 5% going to be way too strong or way too weak?

just wondered if anyone has used this stuff?

5% sounds about right for a medium strength menthol vape. Much more than that gets too harsh, for me.
Is your 60mg nic juice in PG or VG. If it is in PG, you might consider adding some VG instead of 56% PG for some vapor production.

I am in a similar situation. i rarely vape menthol but i want to make some for my brother. Most people like at least 30% VG. I make mine with 70-80% VG. Menthol is such a strong flavor it shouldn't be muted much by using high VG amounts and you will get a lot more vapor. I get my VG (they simply call it "glycerin") from Walgreens (if you don't find it with skin care products ask the pharmacy to order it for you and they will have it in a few days). I have heard you can find it at walmart also.

I just ordered some menthol from wizard labs. I have heard that coolada is good with menthol so i ordered some of that too. Some wintergreen might be a good idea to vary the flavor some. there are plenty of menthol recipes on the forum

5% menthol will knock most peeps socks off...start with 2-3 and go from there, especially if adding other mints or koolada

Start off only adding a couple of drops of menthol, steep and then test, once you add to much your mistake is made, its very strong stuff, so start with very very little, or even better make a 6-10ml test batch and start with 1-2 drops so you get a feel for what its like, then when you find your happy place in the 6-10ml you can do your math for the bigger bottle of juice, either way my best advice is not to start with 5% but more with drops

5% menthol? Might as well put vics vapor rub in your atty. Menthol is amazingly strong even at what you might think is small amount. Been DIY for a long time and gave up on menthol. Now I use peppermint oil to add to any mix to mimic the cool hit of menthol.

The Menthol I use has 40 drops per ml. 2 drops per ml would be 5%. Measure your dropper. The default of 20 drops per ml is probably wrong for your dropper, as it is for mine. For me, 5% is a medium amount menthol. If I was using a syringe, I would add 5%.

I make 180ml batches of menthol for my parents. As they have complained that, "It needs more menthol", I have gone to making my own menthol flavor from menthol crystals @ 1Tsp powdered crystals w/ 10ml-each of PG & PGA. Almost all of that goes into the mix. I think it works out to 15% menthol flavoring, and the menthol flavoring I use is waaaay strong. My parents smoked Salem for many years, and I think that particular b rand is known for having a heavy menthol.

That leads me to wonder... what kind (brand) of menthol stinkies do your friends smoke? It's relevant to the ratio of your mix.

Going to agree with Dougie here...

My mom smoked menthol smokes for as long as I can remember. First it was Kools, then she switched when they quit making them. Since I've gotten her switched to e-cigs, I've been making her juice for her. I use 6% menthol in the last batch, thinking it would knock her socks off. She vaped it and said "It could use some more."
