LOL Kate - fair enough ;).

Actually, I'd thought I kept my 'stuff' out of reach of the little nymph - she prides herself on doing Viking like raids on whatever I've left on the coffee table.

After tearing the house apart, checking the cafe at work and phoning the taxi company that had taken me home - all to no avail - I was sure I'd lost most of my e-cig stuff - but not all.

On finding the stuff I was ashamed of myself.

That 'stuff' contained toxins that'd have poisoned her.

I need to be MUCH more careful. These e-liquids are not in child-safe bottles – mine aren’t anyway. Perhaps it took just seconds for her to smuggle my e-cig bag to her toy chest, perhaps a little longer.

It took me more than 2 days to find it when I’d have thought she was just playing with her toys … I don’t want to be negative. It did remind me to be much more careful than I was being.

Ha, that's true Badseed but I don't blame it on kids, I blame it on my cats ;)

I've had second thoughts about the Fogger after seeing the pictures of Janty's 2009 product and deciding I want that instead. I sent an email to Harry today to cancel my Fogging order.

I'm pretty fickle when it comes to ecigs

EDIT

It is a worry with children getting their hands on dangerous stuff Soot. At least you got a wake up call before anything bad happened.

I know what you mean Kate. I ordered too, but for some reason, I didn't get the discount so I haven't paid for it and cancelled. I am sort of glad really, because I need something better than what I've got rather than something as a toy. This is a serious addiction and not to be trifled with, lol.
I read in another thread that the fogger is a show piece, a toy, rather than anything else and that the battery doesn't last long at all -and that was from Janty.

Received my Shimmer this evening.

I like :thumb:

Got a tester pack with 10 different flavours. Been vaping what can only be described as a mint choc ice for the last hour. Best thing about the shimmer is that you can load up a silly amount of juice into the cart (got 5 blank carts from Simon :thumb:) and not worry about having to top-up/drip every 10 minutes.

No juice escaping into my gob either :D

4/5 from me

Yes - mine is still going strong. We'll have to have a dedicated Shimmer group soon! :)

Kate - I hope you're wrong about the '09 Janty - if it builds on the KB I KNOW I'll just go out and buy the thing and I was thinking of making my New Year's resolution, "No more gizmos!".

It's kind of related to this topic since this cigar's batteries are the same as the KB's-USB.

I got my shimmer just an hour ago - great delivery time from e-cigs.co.uk and entirely agree with nicewon. The vapour is excellent, the draw easy and there's a very full taste. I ordered "Regular/High" cartridges and the only taste that is as good is "TW's Virginia". I'm very happy with it so far.

Just 1 negative and 1 concern:

The charger made an electrical 'crack' when I plugged it in and doesn't work. No big deal for me, I've a DX charger for these batteries and it's not worth posting the broken one back.

My only concern is atomiser reliability - since it's built in once it goes I'll need to order another Shimmer and that'll be by New Year's resolution broke . Hopefully it'll last longer than the launch of new '09 Janty so I can blame them instead :p.

Well - e-cigs do an RN4062 body replacement, which includes the atomiser. But ours is the glittery 4062g and they don't list that yet. Maybe they will soon? With a lot of luck we won't need it for some time...

The 2009 Janty is basically a battery box with a switch, it takes ecigar batteries and classic atomisers. If the box itself, including the switch are durable then I'm sure it's a winner.

Yes - I also like the look of the pipe...nice and stylish yet practical in a dumpy sort of way - "unfussy" ....:)

I'd be interested in the pipe if it was a more ergonomic design but it looks like it wouldn't be comfortable to hold for any length of time. It'll also need to have generic batteries and an easy, cheap atomiser arrangement.

I know what you mean, Kate - especially re: batteries and atomisers - but I suppose I see it as a piece of "desk furniture". You could be typing away at a bit of work, get a slight nic craving, pick it up, have a quick toke and dump it back down on the in-tray without even THINKING about it. That would be a giant leap forward, I think.:)

i wouldnt worry about the atomiser going bang quickly Soot...ive had my RN4062 since May,very occasional light use...im still on the original atomiser...

the cigar atomisers seem much more robust than a normal ecig...you can reset to burn off crud...you can even wash them-very carefully...and im sure Simon will have more atomiser bodies in soon...

i actually think an ecigar is probably the best value esmoking device there is...provided you get a good one...like everything else ecig, its a bit of a lottery...

as for the Janty stuff...well id like the pipe to have automatic and manual option, and to have a grip like a joystick and a trigger type manual switch...

Kate - that is the route the Screwdriver has followed - with considerable success from what's reported here. But, as you point out, ergonomics figure too and these matter to many - with new e-cig converts typically wanting something close to an analogue.

It was partly because of this I ordered the Shimmer. My friend with a pub is trying to find something that he can offer his smoking customers. He's a couple of BBC journalists as regular customers and wants to 'get it right'. For that he wants simplicity, easy maintenance, cost effective supply and analogue look-a-like. The last requirement is unlikely to be typical of a pub owner in a city but he has no ambitions to change his customers smoking habits - he'd just like them back in the pub as often as they used to be before the smoking ban.

I hope the Shimmer with it's cheap purchase cost and cheap battery plus luxury cigar feel fits the bill. Time will tell ...
