First off I would like to say a massive thank you to Zapp-Ecigs in Cardiff. I popped in their shop a few days ago and was immediately greeted by everyone that worked there. I was served by a really guy, unfortunately I forgot his name so from now on he shall be known as Mech Exclusive Guy. We had a nice chat and I gained some rather nice tips and even bagged myself a little cape trick lesson. All of the guys in Zapp are awesome and offer some really good advice as well as just are up for a good chinwag. If any of you guys are in Cardiff at some point make sure to pop into their shop. They have a great selection of juices and hardware. It's run by people that vape and they don't sell anything they wouldn't use.
Anyway enough of that, I'm not affiliated with the shop at all, I just wanted you guys to know how good an experience I had down at their shop.
So today I'm going to talk about the Grizzly Vape's Line which includes: Nanner Bear, Koko Bear and Polar Bear. They also do another line, Simple juice and 3 other juices.
I have been using all three for a little while now and Nanner Bear has been one of my favourite vapes for about 4 months now. The juices have been used in rba's and tanks so as to get a good mix of the versatility of the juices.
Manufacturers Flavour Profiles:
Nanner Bear: It’s a subtle juice, not one of those “punch you in the tongue” flavors you get, there are no double shots or flavor kicks, or sidecars, etc. It’s been crafted to be an all day vape and it has become that for damn near everyone who tries it.
Koko Bear: Nannerbear's darker cousin, this is a chocolate vape if you want to be a peasant about descriptions. It's so much more than that.
Polar Bear: The frosty cousin of Nanner and Koko. This juice is the third and final Bear from the Grizzly Vapes line. Before we talk about Polar though… let's talk about what put the frost in this icy, ursine juice. Icicles. This is a juice from Axiom Vaping that is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the iciest menthol you've ever tasted. Icicles is like having your entire head and torso invaded by an army of tiny Yeti. It's cold, son. I'm not even playing.
Packaging: 9/10
The bottles sizes are only 30ml, no other options for amount of liquid. The labels are really nice looking, with just a black and white logo, the name of the flavour in a unique font and all of the relevant warnings.
Smell:
Nanner Bear: 8/10 Complex and nutty, with hint of banana, but a very non-artificial banana.
Koko Bear: 9/10 Chocolate with vanilla, undertones of the nutty, banana bread from Nanner Bear.
Polar Bear: 10/10 It may sound stupid but it's almost like it clears your nose it's that icy. It still has a nutty smell to it too but the banana is a bit masked by the iciness.
First Taste:
Nanner Bear: 9/10 The first toot I took of Nanner Bear really confused me, like knocked me off my feet confused me. I really couldn't put my finger on what it tasted like. It had a kind of nutty, spicy, banana(y) flavour that some have likened to spiced tobacco, but to me I'm getting zero tobacco flavour. It intrigued me so much I just had to keep vaping it, and the more I vaped it the more I liked it.
Koko Bear: 8/10 This juice also confused me a little but I am definitely getting a vanilla(y) chocolate flavour on top of the nutty-ness from Nanner Bear. Neither the chocolate or the vanilla taste like any other juice I've tried, it's not artificial tasting, it's subtle but definitely there.
Polar Bear: 10/10 Immediately I am hit by an icy sensation. It's not menthol, it's pure clean ice. After milling the vapour around in my mouth and lungs a bit there it is, that indescribable nutty flavour that undertones all of the juices in the Goldilocks line. You are left with a nice cool feeling in your mouth and throat.
Inhale:
I'm using 6mg for all the juices and I have a 0.23 ohm build in my dripper at 92.5 watts and a 0.30 ohm build in my tank at 65 watts so the throat hit is pretty good but not throat shredding, intact it's a perfectly smooth throat hit.
Nanner Bear: 9/10 A lovely sweet nut bread flavour, like a traditional home made nut bread still warm from the oven. It's not a bitter nut flavour though like most nut's are when unseasoned but sweet, not overpowering sweetness but enough to cut the nutty-ness a little bit.
Koko Bear: 9/10 I'm mainly getting vanilla first of all with a little chocolate. It's a vanilla bean flavour not a food flavouring vanilla if that makes sense. The chocolate tastes like it's from an expensive chocolatier with a long list of exquisite ingredients from exotic South American countries.
Polar Bear: 9/10 ICE ICE ICE. On the inhale i'm not getting anything but ice in Polar Bear. It is however a very complex ICE that I don't feel I can explain properly.
Exhale:
Nanner Bear: 8/10 I'm getting a complex mix of many flavour on the exhale. A bit nutty, a little bit spicy but mainly a very natural banana, almost like you bitten into a ripe rind of banana but without the bitterness.
Koko Bear: 9/10 More chocolate on the exhale than vanilla but it's still there. You also get a lot more of the undertones Nanner Bear.
Polar Bear: 10/10 I'm starting to get a lot of Nanner Bear now and a little less ice but after the exhale is finished you end up with a lovely fresh cooling feeling in you mouth and throat.
Overall Judgement:
Nanner Bear: 43/50 This has been my go to ADV for a while now and I love the complexness of the flavour. The flavour seems to vary to me and throws out all different notes in different amounts nearly every time I pick it up. If you haven't tried this juice, be prepared for when you do, as it will likely become your ADV too.
Koko Bear: 44/50 Surprisingly despite the higher rating i prefer using this juice at evening not as an ADV. I can't really explain properly but it just isn't an ADV for me but that by no means it's not a great vape.
Polar Bear: 48/50 Polar Bear has almost replaced Nanner Bear as my ADV but i find myself using it more after meals and first thing in the morning. I think that's the ice in it. But still it's one of my favourite juices of all time.
All the liquids from Grizzly Vape's are amazing in my eyes and they are possibly my favourite brand of liquids.
