I searched Nanner Bear in this section and just got this thread. I only vaped it a little, not long enough for a real review, so just wanted to add my thoughts about it to an existing thread. Also have Koko to try today, both of these PIFed to me from the lovely OP..
Ended the night last with Nanner Bear from GrizzlyVapes and vaping it this morning. It's a very interesting vape.
At first it was underwhelming. There's nothing that stands out or seems exceptional, I didn't go, wow that's good banana, or wow that's good tobacco. In fact I barely taste banana or tobacco. I did find the taste very pleasant. It has a mouthfeel/flavor feel that reminds me of unflavored gummy candy, very much like what's in Vapetrik's Coo Ca Choo or even the gummy bear quality of Jiggy from HHV.
That initial reaction to the seemingly unexeptional flavors is misleading though. This vape isn't intended to wow in any way. Instead what it does is offer a bunch of subtle flavors that comes together as a very complex flavor. All of the flavor notes are subtle, but the juice as a whole isn't lacking flavor. This seems aimed to be an ADV for folks who go for that.
Picking out the subtleties was interesting; an earthy tobacco, a flavor that isn't quite banana but seems to capture certain qualities of banana, a very very light cooling sensation on the exhale, not menthol just a cool whisp, and several other flavor sensations that aren't obvious but play a part. There's a total lack of high notes, it's a full and lush chord that focuses on low and mid-range notes.
I ended the night with.. that is an exceptionally made juice and very interesting, but it's just too far from my profile for me to want to grab for it often. Then, grabbing it this morning, my reaction was.. wow, that's a damn tasty vape to wake up to. I think the flavors needed time to sink in.
As I vape it, I kind of wish there was something bright in there, a high note like a bright fruit or a grassy quality to the tobacco, but I have a feeling that was left out for a reason. Sometimes with art leaving people wanting more or a space of uncomfortable emptiness is a powerful tool. Yes, I'm one of those strange folks that considers juice creation a form of art (but all it is is vegetable juice! Lmao.)
