Hello all,

Quite new to vaping, so just finding my feet.

I stopped smoking on 14th jan, with a vivid all in one kit bought for me by my daughter.

But found the kit a bit of hard work due to the clearomiser, so I went to a vaping shop and bought an Aspire CE5-S unit, which I found to be much easier to use, with a better taste, and flow to it.

Went back a couple of days later, and bought a couple of Aspire ET-S's as well, which I also found very good.

Tried a couple of different flavours as well, so bought some of them as well.

So far my vaping experience has been very good, and I have not had a craving for a cigarette at all.

So now I could do with a little help, I need a battery that will suit me, I have the vivid one which is supposed to be 800/1000 mah, I am not convinced, and also a generic 650 mah battery which last's no time at all, few blasts and its done,.

I would like something with the capacity for a couple of day's, but nothing too complicated, not bothered about variable voltage / watts etc, just something simple - just like me.

Thanks for reading,

Eddie. :)

Hi Eddie.

I won't bore you with the whole Vivid story, but suffice to say, well done for already moving on to better value kit.

A couple of days is a BIG ask, I've got to tell you. You could potentially manage two days with a mod e-cig with the high capacity battery or, you might like to consider one of the latest "box mods" like the MVP or iStick.

I actually own something that might work for you as well. It's an old-school mod device which contains an 18650 battery. I'd need to search it out to remember the name, made by Joyetech. With a 3,400mAh battery in one of those, you could manage two days I reckon.

Another possibility is to buy a "mechanical" mod and use the biggest capacity IMR 18650 battery you can buy... or have two batteries.

Be careful before you buy though, please. The e-cig market is moving so fast even us "hobby" vapers cannot keep up.

welcome eddie and congrats

I also agree with djsvapour
when I started I bought the halo triton starter kit with 650 mah batteries, those lasted me 1 day each with chani vaping so I was able to always have one for backup if I was near a ac outlet of course which I always was :)

now I just use a mech mod with 6 18650 batteries 2500 mah each and I use 4-6 daily lol but those drain ALOT faster

Innokin iTaste MVP 20W

I was in your very shoes just 3 weeks ago...I had several 650mah ego style batteries, two of which just died on me, and my third one was on it's last legs. I was lucky to get a few minutes of vaping before having to stick it back on the charger. I was desperately trying to find another battery to replace my ego...
In fact, I kid you not, it was the reason I joined ECF and my very first introductory post here on the newbies was very much like yours
Batteries are like everything else, where some folk like this, and some folk like that, but I got great advise on here, as well as reviews on several different kinds of batteries.
I was looking for something that had a long battery life, and one that was variable in both watts and volts.

I decided buy two of the MVP 20W (not to be confused with the MVP 2.0) and I will tell you, I absolutely LOVE this battery.
I was able to buy mine for $29.95 each with an online coupon from Vapor Beast.
I have YET to see the battery turn from 'green' to yellow' ...and that's two days STRAIGHT of vaping.
It's a no brainer when it comes to using it...not at all complicated.

It's a 'box' style battery and some people don't like this shape...but for me, I actually think it helps as it feels like I'm carrying my pack of cigarettes around...which after 29 years, I became attached to them at the hips.

Which ever battery you decide on, take your time and do your homework before purchasing one.
If you plan on buying a battery online, you can always find online coupons that will knock down the costs...
You can also do what I did and go to a local vapor store, check out the batteries in person and see which one you like best, and then shop around for the best prices.

Good luck with your search!

Welcome to ECF, Eddie!

I take it your are an "on the go" vapor, so something you can swap out the batteries in might serve you best. Me personally, I lean towards a regulated mod and several batteries. Lots of choices dependent on your other vaping preferences.

If you are not on the go, perhaps something with pass through capabilities might work well for you. Again. I personally like the Innokin MVP which now has a few different models.

Good luck and happy vaping!

It's hard to say because although you don't want a regulated mod I see you getting there at some point in your vaping expedition!! If that's something you can see yourself getting into I would like to suggest a vaporshark rdna40 or a Hana mini dna40. Temperature protection is where our industry and it does work well. The vaporshark is small and compact and has an 18650 battery that should last quite a while. Try a kayfun lemo drop or a aspire Atlantis you'll love it

Thank you all very much for your replies, and taking the time to post to me, it is appreciated.

I have a lot to learn with regards the vaping side of things.

I think I will probably start with some preconceptions, as will have many before me.

Well anyway, I bought an aspire cf sub ohm battery for now, so I could upgrade to a sub ohm tank if needed.

At the moment the tubular mod seem's to be the one I prefer at the moment, but I'm sure that will change.

I don't do the lung hit thing, I only use it like a normal cigarette.

After getting the battery, and trying it, I need to drop the nicotine level down (A lot) using 18mg, so I'm thinking of dropping to 6mg,
as it give's me a headache quite quickly.

The aspire HT-s tank give's me a good hit, but it looks out of place on top of the sub ohm bat.

I could do with something that is the same sort of diameter, as the battery. (Kanger, aspire, etc)

I have measured it at 22mm dia.

Also the flavor's I am using at the mo are:

Black ice (Blackcurrent and menthol)

Blackjack (Self explanatory)

Jungle burp (Fruit and menthol)

Std tobacco

And again, thank you for your replies.

Cheers,

Eddie.
