Ya was hoping someone from down here could talk from experience. So many vape shops down here. (Live in Philly)
Talk to a few of them (and visit their website) before you visit. A conversation about battery safety, ohms law, watts/volts, and amp limitation should give you a good idea of who much they really know. There are many B&M's that are really only interested in selling you the latest and have no interest in taking the time to make sure you are safe. In many cases, the employees/owners are totally clueless regarding safety.

Where are you actually? I've found the Vapor Shark in Hallandale to be okay, but I've never gone to them for building advice. There is a company VaporLife that has a couple of stores in Broward (I know he has one across from the Broward Mall and one in Lauderhill). They are helpful, good at rebuildables, but also "sales" heavy so expect them to really try to upsell you. I know that there are a couple of others on the east side of the county, but I'm from the west side so I've never visited them. If you go to the Florida Vapers forum on ecf and click the south florida vapors, there are a couple of forum threads on good shops from ecf members.

One problem I see is that you already bought your stuff at some other store. Now you are asking some other shop to support it. Local shops need to make money and, if I were a shop owner, I would not support stuff not purchased in my shop. I as a consumer would not expect a merchant to support things purchased from another merchant.

There is also a liability issue. A local shop, probably, has liability insurance to cover what they sell. If they did something with equipment they did not sell and something happened their insurance might not cover them.
