The key is to find the atomiser that suits your needs. The cartridge just holds the eliquid that is to be vapourised by the atomiser and the rest of the device is a battery.

Once you have bought a starter kit, which usually contains 2 batteries about 5 carts and 1 or 2 atomisers, it will be much cheaper to buy bottles of eliquid and re-fill your own cartridges.

It's a whole new world out there,,,,,,enjoy the journey :)

For some reason though pre filled carts seem to last longer than refilling.

Most people buy bottles of liquid and refill their carts or cartos.

If you are looking for a nice simple UK made device there is always the screwdriver MK1 avaliable from Trog google screwdriver e cig, will save you a packet over a 1 year period (In batteries)
eg battery cost for last year
4 402 batteries (£9 each)
4 auto 510 batteries (£8)
4 manual 510 (£8)
2 mega 510s (£10)
2 tornado (£14)

4 pack of screwdriver batteries £5

if you are looking for a cheepish chineese made device that pretty good then you can't realy beat the tornado (ego), totaly wicked, TECC or Liberty Flights or mist eliquid
used them all and they are all ok

I have both, I'm a 501 boy at heart on the tornado or the 510 screwdriver.

I guess I just need to get over my hump about it not being branded
a bit like buying a tshirt from a label or an identical generic one....

I really like the finish of the greensmoke e cigs and found a cheap site that sells them and ships next day (newsmoke.co.uk) but you guys have made me question whether I should just go down the generic route...

and yes I know you all think i'm a fool for even questioning it!

If you want one to look like a cigarette, the batteries do not last very long if you use them heavily. If you vape when you get nicotine cravings, a PCC (personal/portable charging case) is a must for that type of battery - it is about the size of a packet of fags and recharges the batteries between vaping sessions.

If you are quite happy to press a button and shove something a bit bigger (in girth) into your gob, a eGo/Riva/Tornado would suffice - the battery would last most of the day before a recharge.

As always, there are many model out there and it is upto the user to ultimately decide which suits their needs the most.

Good luck :)

Thanks for the reply Rusty :)
Its a Genie battery I have, I just wanted to know how reliable they were and if there were any batteries out there that are more reliable.

I was never really a heavy smoker, smoking extremely small rollups and not bothered about smoking when in a place where smoking isn't allowed or smoking when I'm walking down the street.

I have stopped several times now but keep getting let down by the batteries.

I'm very happy with my e-liquid, so no problems there, in fact vaping on strawberry and vanilla has made my rollups taste nothing short of disgusting!

So I really just need a couple that are going to give me a reasonable amount of vapour, I don't need huge amounts, I just need them to work properly!
