You all know who I am..well maybe not, as i'm not sure myself at this point....what with thinking i finally settled into being " oldbroad"....not "katiedid'........and then on-the-ball ECF somehow kicked me back to being "katiedid" , and it seems they can't figure out how to give me back my profile as oldbroad. I've gone thru all kinds of things, especially emotionally, over this terrible mix-up caused by ECF when they had issues a week or so ago and somehow lost my profile.

When I tried to log in ECF said I wasn't, in effect, oldbroad, I was katiedid. But then they wouldn't allow me to go back to oldbroad because my email addie didn't match with the old one they had.

If I'd had any clue that ECF would boggle up the site so much, and if I'd known that they based my whole profile on an email address, I would have updated it. In their emails, approximately a half a dozen, they insist that I can't log in as oldbroad as it belongs to someone else.

I've been pretty upset by this whole mess and not being able to use my own profile and being forced to use the one that ECF dug out of the archives.

I could type in " oldbroad' in the "search' and go right to my oldbroad profile...but it's as tho it's someone elses!Oh, and when I go to "katiedid" and scroll to the Albums, guess what the header is! oldbroad!

I had to start all over with 5 new posts, to be verified...but if I was already a member, under katiedid", why'd I have to do that?Oh, by the way, i got a permanent infraction for posting five times in a row...i don't recall the exact term for it....

Now yesterday, as i had over 61 posts as "katiedid', i clicked on the " what's
new" header, to go to the classies....and a window popped up that said ," Sorry, no matches. Please try different terms."

I feel very vilified by ECF at this point.

And I really appreciate how so many of my friends responded to my last post yesterday. I obviously am not welcome anymore so I'm taking my coffeepot and going elsewhere....

I for one hate that happened to a nice person such as yourself. I really hope they decide to fix things up for you. It would be a sad day when things like this happen to others and they still won't fix it to keep their customers happy. It's really sad because we are the reason they are here. Someone makes money off this and no one person is more important than any other so if it happens to one it could happen to any of us. Sounds like someone needs to step up their game and do the right thing.

I want my whole profile and username of oldbroad back. ECF took it all away and now i have to go thru all kinds of rigamarole to even get here, including starting all over as "katiedid". ECf has my old email address...actually, I think, a couple of them, and they say i can't have my old profile back because the email addie i have now doesn't match the one for "oldbroad". In one of our emails, I think ( at this point I'm not sure)I gave them the last three email addies. It seems to me that they could trust that I am, in fact, oldbroad

( I don't know if I'm even making any sense, I have my own self confused)

and now I'm very tired and stressed...i'm going to take a very long bubblebath with Elvis music....


I might be back, who knows at this point....

Have they taken a post in a Social Group Forum and reposted it into a Vendors Forum yet ? I looked kinda stupid without even trying on that one. Instead of giving up, ask several Moderators (I think ClassWife has already PM'ed you) to see if the Higher-Ups that actually run this place can be asked to get on the ball on this one.
Would hate to see you go. But if you leave and come back, bring Feisty Alice back with you. And BoiledNutz too.

could either of the admins explain the underlying issue?

i'm not sure if it's because Kay (oldbroad/katiedid) no longer has access to the email addy that ECF has on file for oldbroad, or because Kay can no longer remember the password for the long-forgotten email account. Like Kay, i am also a senior citizen, so i understand far too well what forgetting passwords are all about.

i also understand why ECF cannot just grant access to an account just on say so. before retiring, i worked in a field related to internet security.

But intelligent people should be able to arrive at the correct and, more importantly, proper conclusion.

After all, damn near everyone in this forum (dozens, perhaps hundreds) can vouch that Kay is really oldbroad. That should count for something.

I'm not asking ECF to break any rules here. I'm just asking what we collectively can do to help Kay restore her real account. The fact that the timing of this coincides with ECF going down, and requiring some, but not all to reset passwords should be a mitigating factor.

in my case i had two windows open, possibly in different browsers, when ECF made me reset my password. From what i remember, i reset it in one window or browser, but it didn't take. I think i ended up with my original password working without changing it. So, there, but for the grace of browser mysteries, go i...

I have personally run message boards like this one. In lieu of the email address, why not check Kay's IP address? (for example, just sayin') I'm certain they can check what IP, or IP range, was used for her "oldbroad" posts.

I get the distinct feeling classwife is trying her best to help, I surely hope she and Kay can work something out. If Kay winds up leaving, it'll be a loss for us AND ECF

Hello everyone...


I just spent about a half hour posting to all of you that have been pulling for me..then I put my photobucket up on the top header so i could get a "big hug" pic, copied it...then couldn't sign in again....but this time it was my fault cuz I didn't have reos forum up in the header!

It was a heartwarming post, too...but now i've forgotten all of it

so here it is again
