Does the eleaf have an adjustable 510 pin? If so then this may be perfect starter. Beginners don't need more than 20 watts.
I'm honestly not sure, I ordered one as a backup for my vaporsharks... couldn't say no room 35 bucks. And at that price I don't see an adjustable 510 as a deal breaker for a beginner. The magma and 454 are the only two attys that would probably cause an issue.

I've had 2 Chana mods that didn't sit flush. The RDAs would eventually tilt without a flush base because threads on both units were not good. Ended up trashing them. kayfun would be major problem.

Ok, good to know, I still don't see a BEGINNER using a kayfun as a DRIPPER.
In any event the OP was looking for an INEXPENSIVE mod to try dripping with.

To the OPs point I feel for 35 bucks or less (32 at egay) this is perfect with a tobh Atty or patriot. A good rda can be found on egay as well or 101vape.com. I would suggested a tobh clone or an infinite CLT. Both are easy for you to learn how to build and have a good airflow control, offering good vapor and flavor.

I'm trying to stay on topic and HELP the OP as that was the POINT of THIS thread.
Besides this DOES have a spring Adjustable 510.

I drip On my MVP and VTR both work really well with RDA's with a .9 to 2.5 coil and cotton wicks :vapor:

May work for you but MVP being a max 11 watts and VTR max 15 watts it's on the low side. Also these guys were designed to do Cartos and Tanks. Not RDAs with 22/24 gauge Kanthal. The Kanthal might be thicker than the wire used on the 510 connector.

Some VG juices work really well above 20 watts on single coil.

Yeah sorry off topic.

Last week I was a huge fan of the MVP as the BEST starter mod for a beginner... times seem to have changes....
Eleaf just released a 20w mod, cheaper than the MVP, and smaller than a vaporshark(my favorite mod BTW), Pre Order Istick by Eleaf 20 Watt 20W SHIP from USA Authentic | eBay
My issue with the vaporshark for a beginner is simply the price. I would never ask a new vapor to drop that kind of money on any mod, simply because of the investment. A 40 dollars MVP would be perfect for someone to explore several avenues of vaping and then invest in what suit them best. If you like tanks, a provari, they are indestructible. If you prefer to drip, a DNA or SX mod, will let you go nuts with consistent High power vaping....
Check out that eleaf as a Great regulated 20w mod, the MVP is a 12W device. I would NOT recommend a mechanical mod, unless you have a good working understanding of ohms law, and battery safety. I would also suggested a decent ohm meter to let ukulele check for shorts.

it's on preorder darn it!! and I'm getting one as soon as they have a product to sell!! 2200 mah rechargable with my usb AND smaller than the MVP. win/win in my pocket when I'm out.

MVP doesn't work with anything below 0.7.

If you can swing it pickup an IPV2...they should be dropping n price now that the 100w and 150w mods are coming out.

sub-ohm?

or even better, can you tell us what ohm's the coil will be built at for you?

As Susan suggested the MVP might be a great place for you to start.....BUT.. that depends on how low of a resistance you plan to use.

I'm thinking of trying dripping too, but what would suggest that would NOT remind me of carrying around a pack of analogs.

I have a Sigelei Legend v2 right now 3.0-6.0 VV / 3.0-15.0 VW
w/ Aspire Nauty Mini

I'm not sure I understand the statement, are you looking for a High power tube mod?
If so, there are a few out there..
Sigelei has a 30w tube mod at fasttech.
And I've seen a few others. Madvapes has a 50w smoktech tube mod called the because pro

I normally have my DNA mod set between 24 and 28w and prefer it over My mechs.
mostly because I can get 8 hours of good solid vape time out of an 18650; whereas in a mech, I'm swapping batteries every 2-3 hours.

I see them box mods as pack Newports.

Hello
After reading through the comments just want to ask, i have an MVP v2 and an Apollo vtube the vtube can go to 20w but someone said before it may not actually do this, would someone in the know mind looking at the vtube an seeing what they think? i want to have ago at dripping so could use either im guessing, want to get a magma clone an not really interested in risking sub ohms yet (at least until im comfortable with building an understand it ALOT better). What ohm coil would you say is a safe start for either of these mods an wattage?
Im using both on either 2.1 or 1.8ohm coils at 9w with protank 2,3 and iclear 30, its good just looking for better flavour mainly and abit thicker vape.

Thank you all

The Apollo VTube Version? Anyhow I think they are all the same in terms of chip design. Yes they say 20 watts but it's a variable voltage device instead of VW. It has a max 6 volts limitation. I don't own one but know from reading about this device. In essence it's no different than a Evic. So 6 volts limit = 15 watts max. Roughly speaking. Would be no different than your MVP in sense of mounting a RDA.
