I'm pretty new to vaping, about 2 weeks now and I've probably spent $300 so far trying to find a system that works for me...I don't really care because it's making the first real dent in my 20+ year smoking career so I'm pretty thrilled regardless of price.

Anyways - I'm trying to find a good setup that will deliver good consistent TH and great flavour - I have standard eGo batteries (not VV/twist) and I've tried cartomizers (poor flav and TH), the c4 clearomizer (hassle-free but lacking in flavour) and the eGo-C (easy but no flavor) so I'm just direct dripping on a 510 atty with 24mg juice and it's working pretty well...but I would love to combine the ease and fuss-free style of a tank system with the flavor and hit of direct dripping - any suggestions? how about a smoktech LR dual coil tank? Any thoughts on those?
To put it simply - I find that anything other than direct dripping doesn't produce the flavor or hit I'm after.

Well you are asking alot to get the same flavor and throat hit as dripping in something like a clearomizer or tank....The dual coil tank still uses cartomizers, and if you don't like cartomizers you probably will not be satisfied with the tank version. I am curious if you were using Low Resistance cartomizers when you tried them?? They are pretty well known for having good flavor and throat hit, although if you are trying to use Standard Resistance cartomizers on an ego batt it will NOT be satisfying in the least. As far as clearomizers go, I have two suggestions. First the T2 kanger clearomizer (long wick, LR)..great flavor and throat hit, the drawbacks are it sometimes gets gurgly. Second would be the Vivi nova tank V2.5 long wick, LR once again as you are using an ego batt, good flavor, good throat hit and no leaking or gurgling. FINALLY if cost is no worry and you are the fiddly type go for a rebuildable atomizer tank.....now this is WAY beyond beginner stuff.....way, but you wanted to know how to get that clean flavor and throat hit that you would get from dripping...well that is (along with Genesis type atomizers) the best, cleanest flavor you can get. That being said they are often very expensive, I will point to the Penelope Rebuildable (as i have one) by Golden Greek, cost IF you can snag one is $130 retail, probably more on the classifieds. Once again though, these are usually not recommended for people starting out.....but you may find yourself there down the road ;)

Think therealcmac covered everything I was going to say. I gotta agree with the Kanger T2 and the Vivi Nova, some people prefer one over the other, they both have some minor problems in my opinion but are great overall. The Ego-C and CE4 are both mediocre. Plus you want to stick with LR on a standard EGO, because of the lower voltage. Lower voltage = lower ohms to put it simply. I'd suggest getting a twist and trying some SR stuff at higher voltages.

Some people will argue that nothing is as good as dripping, I might agree to some extent but having 1.5-2.5 ml of liquid in a good clearomizer tank or two, more than makes up for the tiny bit of flavour loss to me.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the EGO battery has enough power to run the dual coils well.

You might also consider a different liquid, with a stronger flavour.

Edit: Depending where you are in Toronto, you could check out urbanvapour. They're not the cheapest on the 'net, but going to talk to a real person as opposed to randomly buying stuff online and paying for shipping might help. I know he's got the T2 and twist, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have the Vivi. First off, Greetings and Salutations DopleGanger to the forum, and a heart felt congratulations to giving up the cancer stix (some around the forum will call them analogues, juice as juice i have seen referred to as software).

My first thought was going to be to tell you first try your juice as different flavors on different devices carry a different throat hit much as the drip tip will carry a different hit and flavor (go figure).

What i am going to recommend for a few things (yes including batteries) are "cheap", but i cannot see myself paying $400 for something when a $20 system works just as good if not better (then again in the real world i am more a dollar store shopper then i am sears so this is just my own personal preference shinny though)..

First lets start you off with VV...you could go the Provari route (about $350) or the vmax (about $200):

Evo from Vaporus will run you $20 (or $24 if you go with the gold/brass one) Make sure to pick up 4 aw imr 16340's ($8.99/each two in the Evo and two already charged and ready to go). If you do not have a multi charger ($12.99) then you get one from them to. (ok so i am being Biast as i have two chrome and a brass one, but all three have have different green/yellow/red settings...go figure)

Now your looking for something similar to dripping? Cartomizers i can think of Kangers ($10.95 from Canadian Electronic Vapors)

You want a tank? I have a smoktech and trying to find the love with this vivinova....so this comes down to your personal choice, but...A 510 DCT (smoketech) tank from Vapor Geek will cost you $8.99 and while your there do not use the cart that it comes with, instead purchase yourself some Boge XXL SR (or LR) pre-punched carts I am a huge fan of dripping but the soktech tank and carts i listed are putting my atomizer to shame in flavor, th, and vape....(go figure)

Lastly if you do not want VV (which some don't) then i wanted to point you to The Bolt (again from CEV) comes in a variety of colors, but again i went with the gun metal not only as it looks good but because it was more Metalic and did not have that textured surface thing. Again when it comes to the bolt, you could run the tank system i was mentioning just with LR cart's, or a kanger. Bare in mind if you want to run anything like a stardust on it, your need a 510 to ego connector

Seeing as i am in Winnipeg i have observed the delivery times as follows:

Vaporus in Montreal takes about 4 to 5 days.
Vapor Geek in British Columbia takes about 4 days
CEV in British Columbia takes over night (My personal favorite king of wait time lol)

Now again i am not saying that less expensive prices are better then the higher priced things, and it all comes down to choice. It is your money after all spend it how you want, and what you like. What works for me or anyone else may not work for you.

- = Edit: Oh and a heads up in case you did not know: If you are going to get yourself into a mod, no matter what it is (and it is good to have even for ego users) make sure to pick yourself up a digital volt meter be it from sears, or the source, or a garage sale (cough cough keep your eye on Canadian tire sales, got myself a Master craft one there for $10 on sale cough cough) Not only can you keep a eye on the state of your batteries, but it is nice to see the ohms of your carts.....or even for a Vivi nova. I have watched and read where people have a 1.8ohm head in there but it comes out as 2.8

There is a member here named old goat who makes a box mod for beginners. It looks NOTHING like a cigarette, and I don't own one "yet" so can't say much except it sounds like that is what you are looking for. It is $25 shipped to you.

It sounds like having spent that much money maybe you just need a box mod? It is 510 threaded.

I too like dripping but don't want the hassle so this seems to be the next thing in my search.

wow, thanks so much for all the info guys. I wasn't subscribed to my own thread (duh) so I just got all these answers now.
Yeah I'm pretty sure the carts I tried initially were SR, same with the clearo. I just got some cisco LR attys today and have been loving dripping on them, so yeah it seems like LR and/or VV are the way to go, along with some 24mg juice, my 16mg juices taste nice but I don't get the TH. Keep in mind I was a pretty heavy smoker:) I'm on day 5 of being 100% "analogue" free so this is all a miracle basically.
I think I'm going to experiment with the Kanger T2 and miniNova, possibly with a twist before I start getting into the more hi-tech stuff like the bolt or evo.
thanks again for the warm welcomes guys. I'm def going to check out the urbanvapours showroom soon, and I'm gonna keep my ear to the ground for any meetups/get togethers with fellow vapers. The only thing resembling a group on FB i found was this...with only 4 members;(
Thanks again for the warm welcomes!

I didnt read everyone's posts - what pg/vg is ur liquid? I have a 1100mah KGO and I have tried a few cartos and clearos - the best throat hit and flavor I had gotten so far is from a 1.7ohm ST carto. Plus this off 100% VG. Actually the vapor is so warm and TH is too much for me - my next order I will be trying out the 2 ohms.....my 2 cents...........

my juices so far have been 70/30 pg/vg. just ordered both the mininova v2.5 and the Kanger T2
AND an eGo VV just for the hell of it. I'm really happy with my juice supplier - have tried a few and landed on a goodie - so i'm gonna try to change up the gear first. I'm loving direct dripping onto a cisco LR....just looking for something a bit more convenient for driving/concerts/walking etc!

The mini nova and Kanger are both good to try out, if you don't like either, than clearomizer tanks probably aren't for you in my opinion. Plus the EGO twist is a great cheap VV device and if VV isn't your thing, than at worst you have a slightly longer EGO battery. :) I'd say don't blow $100+ on anything until until you're not smoking at all, but I AM cheap.

There's a GTA meet-up fairly regularly (monthly/bi-monthly) but it's in the North East and technically in Richmond Hill .. believe it's held here, usually: 115 York Blvd, Unit 9 - Google Maps and information is posted in the meet-up sub-section here; Canadian Meets and Events. I don't see a meet-up in the short term, but they'll be one coming up at some point. If you're around Roncesvalles Village, I'll buy ya a drink and drunkenly rambly vape talk if the "wifey" lets me. :p

If you were a PAD (pack a day) smoker, then 24 mg is probably good for at least a little while in my opinon. I started at that and went down to 18 and 16/15 after I had stopped smoking completely. Don't worry about too much about being totally smoke free by the way, lots of vapers stop smoking completely and a lot - like me, took months to stop having the odd smoke - smoking any less tobacco is a good thing in opinion. I am currently trying to drop down to 12, but I'm not in a rush to do so - whatever works best for you. Whenever people seem to get in a rush to drop nic levels fast they seem to have problems. Most people say to stay at what give you the same feeling without a headache or a dizzy/nauseated feeling (signs of too much nicotine) .. and slowly drop it over a few weeks/months if you want to get it to a lower level.
