So i'm at my 5 week mark and experiencing dead taste buds. It's really...really frustrating me. I tried an analog today and almost vomited. It's def not an equipment issue btw. Anyway...anyone have any juice suggestions that are particularly strong? Something that can break through this taste barrier that is the bane of my existence?

Congratz on stopping smoking! Some say that 100% PG can be hard on taste buds. You might want to vary a couple of juices. Don't buy a gallon of what you first like, because your taste will change. I found one that I liked, and thought "OK, I found an all-day vape". After a few days, it didn't taste as good as it did. It didn't taste bad, and it was not a hardware issue for me, either. It eventually worked better for me to switch around between a couple of flavors.

Just mentioned in another thread on taste, your smell is an important part of taste as well.

Focus on what you said. None of the juices made you want to vomit, did they? If they did, move on. The Idea, I think, is to get off analogs. Even crappy juices taste better than analogs. Get over it, peace out or whatever.

Oh man the dreaded no taste wall. A lot of vapers hit it right around that 4 to 6 week mark. I remember it quite well. Nothing satisfied to the point that I almost smoked but I just went to bed dejected instead. Anyway for me it only lasted 24 to 36 hours. I was never a menthol smoker but some menthol juice that I had bought on a whim was the only thing I could taste. If it is this it should pass quickly for you. The only other time I have had an issue was with the onset of the only cold I have had since vaping. Best of luck happy vapes and take comfort in nowing this shall pass. On a positive note at least you know that cigs taste like smelly ... and that should help any further cravings for those right?????

It happened to me too. It was the oddest thing to experience. I'm really thankful that I read about it here so I sort of knew what it was. I think it lasted about 2 days for me and I sort of vaped through it. I knew I was getting the nicotine even if I wasn't tasting it. You could try some Vapor Bomb cinnabomb or Fire n Ice.

the only reason i tried an analog is because someone posted that going back to analogs for a day might be a solution. i was just trying everything. i have no desire to smoke again my first day vaping i liked it a hundred times better. it was probably the easiest transition ever.

I know this is going to sound insane, but when I go through periods like this, and I discovered this purely by accident, I have found that salt on the tongue and a swig of water livens up the flavor of the juice. I also get a more pronounced "tobacco" flavor from my "tobacco" juices by doing this.

More than likely just me, but it works for me. If anyone else tries this I would be very interested in hearing if this method does anything for them.

It makes sense. Salt is a flavor enhancer, so it would seem a little before you vape might enhance the vapors flavor as well.

I've recently tried 2 different juices from Mister E-Liquid. I loved one of them (Lemonade), wasn't so crazy about the other (Jade Tiger), but in both cases the flavor was noticeably very strong compared to some other juices I've tried. This seems to be intentional.

From their website:
Will you add extra flavor if I ask for it? Yes we will but most of are Liquids already have high flavor content. We believe that our customer shouldn't have to ask for more flavor, it should just be there in a quality product. No one has asked for less flavor, so we make our liquids strong from the start and we dont charge you for extra flavor that should just be there from the start!

This is also compatible with the few folks who have mentioned menthol in this thread. Some folks seem to RAVE about the *-ice flavors there (Cherry-, Lemon-, Watermelon-, Grape- Ice). All of these are fruit flavors with menthol added. I plan to give one of them a try on my next order.

This place sounds just up your alley.

It is kinda crazy and stupid..but I swear that that little bit of salt makes all the diff.....Might just be me, but hey....check it out.
The thing that really blew me away with this is that with my tobacco vapes ( and i'm a tobacco kinda guy...usually vape "tobaccco" liquids) the juices that say tobacco don't ever really taste like tobacco....but by accident I did this...The true tobacco flavor came out...and it stopped the "no flavor" thingy....

Just my .02 cents worth...take it for what it's worth...have it on good authority(wife) that I'm a total dumb$ss...and she may have a point. but I have been fooling around with this for a couple of months...and salt will totally change your vape. Maybe good....maybe bad, but it an interesting (weird) concept.
