Vendor: Good Life Vapor
Liquid: Angry Cuban 6mg 70/30 PG/VG
Description: A semi sweet blend that will remind you of a great cigar. Complex and in your face but not harsh. This one is best after a few days of steeping.
Setup: standard Smart Vapes dripping atomizer on 18350 epipe
Thoughts:
Good Life Vapor is a relatively new vendor. They are creating some buzz on ECF due to veteran video reviewers PBusardo and justwaaaa. The main attraction would be Magic Fairy, their Pluid attempt, but there are other flavors as well. As I looked through the website I noticed a cigar flavor. Since I smoked cigars previous to vaping I like to try new cigar eliquids.
Angry Cuban is an attempt at cloning an Al Capone Cigarillo. The original cigarillo is composed of Nicaraguan or Brazilian short filler leaves wrapped in sweetened Bahia wrapper dipped in Cognac. Though not specified on the website (probably due to copyright infringement) I have read a few past articles that say this is supposed to be like an Al Capone.
Angry Cuban is light brown in color. The eliquid is very thin but that is to be expected when having a 70% PG vape. When I first opened it, a strong alcohol flavor was present. I dripped for the first time to be hit with a strong alcohol, a little sweetness (almost honey in flavor), and cuban supreme flavoring from FlavourArt. Though not authentically "cigar" in flavor, this did remind me of a cigar. I decided to let it steep for a week and come back to it.
Tonight I went through a sequence of vaping (20 drops) Angry Cuban and now I am in round two. The cuban supreme flavor has settled down the cognac has stepped up, and the sweetness has lessened. While it still resembles a cigar there are other eliquids that are exactly like a cigar.
The throat hit is decent. The vapor production is decent as well. Nothing spectacular but still existent.
Final Thoughts:
Pure Vapes has an eliquid called "Bourbon Cigar." I mention this because both that and this flavor have a similar makeup. Pure Vapes used the cuban supreme flavoring as well. I very much dislike the Bourbon Cigar. Angry Cuban, although similar in makeup, is still very different. The cognac flavor tastes very authentic and pairs up with the cuban supreme. With the little added sweetness, Angry Cuban rounds itself out to outdo Bourbon Cigar by a long shot.
However, Angry Cuban is listed as a cigar. The sharpness tobacco flavor that comes with a cigar is not there. The cognac seems to be the star of the show rather than the tobacco. Obviously this would be reverse in the real cigarillo.
When I write my reviews, I think on a few points: would I reach for this flavor in the future? Would I finish the current bottle? Would I reorder this? I don't know if I'll ever reach for the bottle again. Though not disgusting, Angry Cuban lacks the mojo to reach the other cigar eliquids out there. 6/10
