Hey, I'm not new to vaping, I've had a mod for a while now. I am however new to mixing my own liquids. I want to start, and I've done some research on it, but I'm just curious on what flavors are good to start with. The Signature brand (which I think is actually TFA) on ecigxpress.com looks good, but I wanted to know which flavors were the best. Thanks

Welcome RC-11 :)

I'm not sure if buying directly from ecigexpress is much different than buying directly from TFA. I would have to imagine it might be how (and where) it gets rebottled?

When you get some more posts in, come visit The Flavor Apprentice Flavoring Thread | E-Cigarette Forum Lots of awesome folks who mingle there - great sources for recipes and suggestions. There's a guy there named Bill's Magic Vapor. Check out his blogs. He has a list of recommended flavors you might want to consider having in your arsenal.

What do you like? Fruits, vanillas, chocolates? I picked up a sampler flat (140-15ml flavors - pretty much covers A-Z in their stock.) Yes, that's somewhat extreme, but I've been at this for close to a year now, and I was getting tired of having to go and order another flavor (which usually ended up like 10 flavors) because I saw a recipe I liked but didn't have the components :)

Good luck and enjoy..... (hope to see you over in the TFA area soon!)

Thanks DingerCPA! I'll definitely check that out. And I like juices with more of a savory, dessert taste. I like the occasional fruity flavors also. That sampler sounds very convenient, where could I look at that? Thanks again

All of the flavors from TFA noted above are worth trying out! However, the more you get into DIY, you'll notice that taste is %100 subjective. Therefore, it's best to use what other people suggest as guidelines. I order all of my flavors from wizardlabs because they sell small 8mL bottles. It's a great way to sample a range of flavors and not have to go through hundreds of 15mL or 30mL bottles. DIY is dangerous, I must warn. Before you know it, you'll have a room that looks like a chemist lab and hundreds of flavors that include bacon, Worcestershire, and pickle juice (ew) and an empty wallet. But it's awesome! Good luck and vape on!

I like TFA's orange cream and their watermelon. Vanilla tobacco is really good for a light tobacco flavor. I mix and match a lot of the different brands it seems everybody does the flavors a little different so to get some of the best mixes you need to get similar flavors in a few different brands.

That. And some brands do fruit flavors better than custards, and some do custards better than tobaccos, etc. I wouldn't buy a lot of any one brand before you try a bunch of different ones. Ecig Express is a good place to do that, as is Bull City Vapor.

As an example (though a little obscure) I was only able to find Earl Grey Tea from Nature's Flavors and Signature. The signature was awful, tasted like over cooked black tea with a tiny bit of bergamot, but the Nature's Flavors was spot on. But for Cranberry TFA was better than Nature's flavors. So far, unless almost everybody recommends one brand for a particular flavor (or a flavor is only available from one brans) I buy at least two different brands, and more when I can afford to, and test them out side by side.

Tfa is a giant company that sells flavorings to other huge companies.
Being a large distributor they sell mainly in bulk and that is visable in their pricing.

Anything you buy 4oz and over will be cheapest from tfa directly, but if you want smaller sizes, 1 oz and below, you can get them cheaper from places like wizardlabs, or eciggity. These places buy the large bulk quantities and repackage for sale. Since they specialize in the smaller orders they don't markup as much as tfa does for the smaller sizes.
