hi everyone!! i have been a pack a day smoker for over 12 years now and am looking to finally quit. This habit is too expensive, especially with all the latest price raises for the NYC area. I have heard about e-cigs through a retailer in our mall although his products are rumored to suck. can anyone point me to a popular, reliable e-cig starter kit I can order online right now? there are so many options and want some input before i choose

2 of the most popular ecigs are the d510 and the kr808d1. The d510 is a 3 piece that has a lot of output. The kr808d1 is a 2 piece that is easy to maintain and good away from home. I would suggest that you research both here before deciding. Multiple approved vendors listed at the bottom of the forums page stock these ecigs. Good to shop around.

I got my first Smoke 51 from the Mall rats, WAY over priced last week. Today i Ordered my 510 starter kits and a BUNCH of ejuice and replcement carts for Half the price I spent last week with the Mall rats. I mean Im getting probably a month or more worth of stuff and Im so excited to try it out.
But i just wanted to say research before you buy, It is a lesson i learned the hard way

Keep in mind, "starter kits" are just that starter kits. If you stay with it (vaping) there's a distinct probability that the hardware in most initial kits will not be enough to keep you going all the time. i.e. battery life between charging. Take a look at the janty ego/TW tornado. Begining with one of these even at a higher initial cost might keep you from having to make additional hardware purchase's for at least a while. P.S. if the bug gets you, your doomed anyway.lol
Good luck

Now that I've gotten my stuff, this is what I *wish* I had done, would have saved a bit on my particular model and shipping.... I ordered from a place that, while it was not *entirely* overpriced, wasn't exactly the cheapest I've found.

I went with the 510, and am *very* happy with it and the PCC. I've used this sucker at work a *lot* and have not run out of a charge on my battery all day or night. The PCC really makes the 510's short battery life livable. It's a little longer than a pack of 100s, but close to the size of a Virginia Slims or Misty box. If I could vape at my desk at work I might like a passthru better, but I am not able to do so, so the PCC is an essential for me.

For the 510s, I see two pretty good deals. I would probably choose between the two based on what liquid I wanted to go for -- the standard PG/VG type mix, or a PG-free type. I'm not having any problems with the PG at all fortunately so :)

If I were going PG-free, I would go with Cignot. They're one of the few distributors of the ECOPure eliquid, and have several great starter kits. They have a plain starter kit for $35.00, and a starter kit with the PCC for $65. They also have a 510 single plus PCC (no backup battery or atomizer tho.... uh oh for when one breaks!) for $45, and a starter kit plus USB passthru for $62. Their ECOPure e-liquid runs about $1.00 per ml, but they also have some other VG-only e-liquids for a bit cheaper, and some PG-containing liquids for $0.50/ml. Their VG-only liquids have some in very small containers so you can decide if you like them before spending a ton of money on a large bottle. And they have free shipping!

I didn't order from Cignot because I wanted the copper colored 510. And if I'd read further on this forum and saw the 40% coupon for MyFreedomSmoke's hardware (code "smoke"), I would have ordered my 510 from them instead of ordering it from the expensive place. I ordered MFS's e-liquids, and I like the first one I opened, the Vanilla, so much I haven't tried any of the others yet. The 510 starter kit plus PCC is $61.14. They also sell other kits, like the M401 Mini (starter kit plus USB passthru is $55.14). They have a *very* wide selection of eliquids to try, although you cannot get VG versions of their sampler kit liquids. I got 6 flavors from their sampler kit, each in very neatly labeled 10ml bottles. I know the menthol and clove are going to be *very* strong -- each of them I could feel the strength of with my eyes when I opened and sniffed the top, and could smell each when I opened the little bags they came in. They charge $6.00 for shipping, but it is Priority Mail shipping. They also offer Express Mail shipping for $19.99 -- overnight to some areas, 2 to others. I wouldn't use it unless you were in an emergency situation as the Priority Mail shipping is a 2-3 day option.

I hope this helps. I love my 510 but there are others here who like other models.
