Welcome to ECF...

Gurgling and flooding should be, at worst, a temporary thing... easily corrected by reestablishing a vacuum in the e-liquid tank.
Things I can think of that would cause, for an extended period, the issues you cite, for a pressure differential (see "wick/seal" references) type atomizer, would be:

1. Coil-heads that are not to Kanger specification... meaning poor quality clones/forgeries, using wick materials that have insufficient density/compression.
2. High PG and/or "thinned out" e-liquid.
3. Modified wicks.
4. Tank leakage - preventing a maintained vacuum.
5. Partially filled tank, laying on it's side, unused for extended periods of time - exposing wick/seal to a more rapid air pressure transfer. (still... this alone should be a temporary and easily corrected issue)
6. Combinations of the above.

Well from my experience i've grown to like and possibly love the kanger aerotank...reason being is that the coil head's are easy to rebuild and that the air flow controller stops leaks getting onto your battery or mod. Having tried the iclear 30B and a vivi nova before they certainly work but when it comes to the leaks they did not perform nearly as well loosing about a mL of a tank to the mod top is not cool.

In my case the flooding came down to user error. Every once in a while I would draw on my evods to hard, literally sucking the juice out of the tank and flooding the heads. I eventually started to notice they always flooded when I was in certain moods, mad or annoyed mostly.

I now use carto tanks and kayfun's and my flooding problems are a thing of the past. Well for the most part, sometimes my carto tanks will flood a little when the carto is at the end of its life. It really needs to be replaced by that time anyways so its not a big deal to me. this is also rare.

Hey all,

I am currently using a SVD and MVP mod with Kanger e Vod tanks. They have flooding issues and gargling. I always clear up my tanks and I am using 3.5-3.8v max.

Any upgrades u recommend? I am pretty new to vaping hence I don't really know the diff btw a tank clearomizer or cartomizer and dual/single coil..
Hello
I really liked the aspire nautilus. I still do but it does have a flaw. The glass tank is very fragile and my unit broke while inhaling. It kinda perturbed me because I ended up with about 4mL of liquid all over me. It did not even have a crack at the time of fill. LOL I plan on getting the stainless steel version soon.

In the meantime, I have a aerotank mega waiting to be filled as I type. However, that has to wait because I am super busy. The construction appears to be superior to Aspire Nautilus.

While these other tanks are fine upgrades, the EVOD is one of the most satisfying and trusty clearos out there. That said, in my own experience, Kanger has been putting out some bad heads lately. Out of my last two 5-packs, only two didn't start gurgling and flooding after the 1st fill up. I had to rebuild them all.
I believe Kanger has changed their coil wraps, contributing to it. If you might consider rebuilding the heads, either with cotton or silica, I think you'd find the EVODs a very good clearo.

I've tried most of the clearomizers that were on the market a year ago. I haven't owned the Aerotank or Nautilus, so won't go there. I had pretty decent performance with the original iClear 30, but the others either eventually developed dry/burnt hits or flooding/leaking/gurgling.

I may be biased, but IMHO clearomizers are aimed to novices because they are so easy to fill and easy to replace coil heads. The cons are they can be inconsistant with the dry/burnt hits or gurgling/flooding issues. It's an inferior wicking system which depends upon tiny strings of silica to provide just the right amount of e-liquid to the heating coil. Too much or too little and you're going to get inconsistancy. In addition, most of them mute flavors.

I hear good things about the Aerotank and Nautilus, so perhaps give them a shot. Otherwise, I suggest moving up to a cartotank. A small investment of time priming a new carto every two weeks will result in better consistancy and better flavor, with none of the cons of a clearomizer. As with anything, expect a slight learning curve.

Having said that, a Kayfun-style rebuildable tank would be another step up in the right direction. The longer I've been vaping, the more I learn, that the more you depend upon commercially-made wicks & coils the more disappointed you will be in the long run. Learn to make your own (ie Kayfun-style) wicks & coils and you will finally find the consistancy, flavor, and vapor production which you've been searching for since you began vaping.

Well, I was going on the assumption that OP was not rebuilding. The PT2's anyway, are horrible POS's with stock coils in them. Rebuilt with a proper micro coil wicked with cotton, and they really sing; it's not even the same tank. I can only assume that this holds true for other Kangers.

I have had re-built PT2's leak a little bit but that is when they need to be re-wicked. I don't even vape stock Kanger coils anymore. I tear 'em apart right out of the package.

This is an interesting journey.

After the usual cheapo CE4 start, I went searching for the no-leak, no-gurgle grail.

I found cartos and RBAs (this may be due to my inability to build a good coil) not to my liking taste-wise. So that left clearos.

I have found the Aspire BDCs leak very little and only gurgle at the end of a tank-full and then with a well-used coil. I really like the mini-nova version but they can fall apart if you drop them. Great hit and taste, though. Currently using the Maxi version as well. Very few problems.

Everything leaks eventually. Need to take good care of whatever it is. For example, before the bottom dual coils arrived, I used the Kanger T3S. With this, you need to dry out the tube with a tapered tissue or pipe cleaner and change the coil regularly (can clean the wicks, dry burn and replace the flavour wicks to save a little).

But put in a little effort in maintenance. I have become really lazy and prefer not to build coils. Just whip in a new BDC into the Aspire when I need to. At around two bucks a pop, it is cheap enough. Then I have trouble-free vaping. Been tempted to try an i-clear 30s to compare to the Aspires.

As far as upgrades go, I'd say one of the most dramatic upgrades you can do is rewick that coil with cotton:
Stop throwing away your protank coils – ITCVapes

Those silica wick bottom coils tend to start going leaking the more you use them, so once you get used to using cotton instead, it's easy to put in a fresh cotton wick and be done with leaking.

As for tanks, the evods you have are probably the original plastic evods; there's a glass evod out now.
For a tank upgrade, you'd want to get glass tanks for the long haul.

miniprotank2 v2: knocks down completely for cleaning,

and I recommend the mini because like the evod it is eGo threaded, not 510 threaded.

I haven't seen pics showing the glass evod completely knocked down but according to kangeronline:
Kangertech EVOD Glass clearomizer is the new issued of kangertech which uses the glass tube instead of plastic ,it is more healthy ,more vapors and it with the same dual coils as protank3,aerotank,evod 2,T3S'D etc.

Main Features of Kangertech EVOD Glass clearomizer:
1.Dual coils fit with protank3 ,aerotank,evod 2 ,T3S'D
2.With same drip tip as mini protank2
3.With Same glass tube as mini protank2
4.Huge Vapor,no leakage,no burning taste
5. Bottom Filling and bottom Heating (1.5ohm)

Package Contents:
1 x Kanger EVOD Glass clearomizer
1 x 510 Drip tip
1 x Atomizer Head Dual coil 1.5ohm

Clearomizer: heating coil is replaceable
Capacity: 1.5ml 480puffs
Suitable voltage: 3.2 - 3.7V

The protective metal jacket on the evods are a definite plus.

Get a Pro Tank II with the new air flow valve. I use mine when I'm out and about an I'm an advanced user. Never had a problem. I've had it for about a year now. Broke a couple of the Pyrex tubes (they cost a couple bucks to replace) but the tank itself is insanely durable. I rebuild the coils to my liking also. When I'm at home I like to drip and vape on some gennys.
