Dude, I'm not going to judge. This is my third attempt to switch from smoking to vaping. It's an addiction and relapses are expected. You do you, and if you decide to try again awesome. If not, maybe another path. Or maybe not. But you tried and that's awesome.

Agreed ... Another good thought ^^^

This is not what most expect on ecig and probably will not go well, but it is what it is.
I started vaping 9 months ago,got into it heavy duty,at least the way I see heavy duty,I am old enough to know better but still could not resist.I wish I could have,it turned out, vaping is not all it's cracked up to be,at first it was a way to quit smoking, very quickly it turned into ,I need this and I need that,it went from a healthy choice to a hobby,to an addiction.
Advice was given in all aspects, reduce your nicotine, inhale ,don't inhale, more flavor ,less flavor, more PG,less VG,DIY,more volts, less watts.Flavor at vendors at ridiculous prices still most taste like paint thinner,Vape flavorless, whats the point, you can do the same with a cigarette, inhale don't inhale.
In the short time I have been vaping,I have a desk drawer full of coils ,wire, tanks, and cotton looking for the pot of gold under the rainbow, that is not going to happen,All is good though, you never know until you experience
the ride,This is where I get off.

So back to cigarettes? If all you say is correct I will stick pick vaping

I miss everything about the convenience of smoking even 3 years later. I still have to overcome small urges to smoke but they keep getting smaller.

There is nothing to stay you can't dual use. What I did for a few months after I got frustrated with vaping. Then one day I just stopped smoking.

I have 3 devices not one cost over 40 bucks. I vape at 8.5. I despise charging batteries. I can't stand building coils and rewicking. I am not a fan of diy e liquid. I do it though by making it as easy for. My devices have on board charger except for my cheap clone mech. My coils are single coils that won't win any beauty contest. My diy I just add flavors to base and say hmm I think that will work, surprisingly it beats all the premade out there.

I learned long ago that when I had to do what someone else said I should I stopped being me.

It is your choice to smoke or vape or heck quit altogether. I fault no one for any of those 3 choices.

Racehorse, what a great reply, thanks, sorry to say,my first cigarette tonight since November.

Well, so what......if at first you don't succeed........

Okay. Buy the book on amazon but you can get at library. It's a pretty famous book. Read it while you're smoking. :) It will sink in.

Next, I wanted to ask you: how was your first few weeks of vaping, I mean back when you had like a "starter kit" thing?

In 2012 when I quit smoking, ego twists were just hitting the shelves. I mean, there wasn't anything fancy. Even the vivi nova wasn't out yet. Twist was called a "game changer" at the time.

Did you keep buying stuff because you weren't getitng what you wanted, or did you keep buying stuff because you had shiny-itis and were kinda egged on to buy new stuff? Just trying to get you back to square one, which is sometimes a good place to start over.

Or maybe you can TRY to describe what it is you think you might need. Is it more nic, maybe WTA will work. WAs it all too fiddly (sometimes best to just stick with simple stuff if that is the case.)

Try to go back in your mind and find the failure points and describe them here. Do you think it was your mindset, you need a little more behavioral help and a new way to think about a lifestyle that doesn't include cigarettes someday?

Your first post was a jumble of utter frustration........and I DO understand that. YOu look at all that stuff, what you've been thru, beating yourself up too in process. That's okay too.

But lets try to get a little more accurate so we can find your unicorn. It may end up being snus, or WTA, or even being a dual user for a time. That's okay, too. :)

Just think you should not totally give up just because you're relapsing. It happens.

Advice is advice, good or bad. It is how it is tanks and applied by the one requesting the advice that matters.
    Some learn, some don't.
Some seem to blame everyone else for their poor decision making and choices.

Vaping can be as simple as an Ego/Clearo and a few inexpensive flavors which appeal to the user. My youngest daughter has been doing it this way for over a year.:)

This is where I get off.

Let us know when you come back. We'll still be here, hopefully.

BTW - I will have a smoke once or twice a year; I'll have one for you tonight.

Thanks for reply, didn't expect any,I have 2 mods, both 30 watts, never bought into the sub ohm,It's just not me.

That ain't so bad. I started vaping April 27th of this year. To date I have 1 stick, 3 tube, 2 box and 3 TC mods and a dozen or more tanks to swap different DIY flavors between them. (no I don't use them all, I mostly use only 3)

Addiction or OCD can be a beast. (or BOTH at the same time!)

One of the reasons I started DIY juice was what I considered the outrageous cost per ml of store bought. I slowly migrated to RTA's because the pile (and the cost) of clogged or burn store bought coils started adding up.

As my stable of mods and tanks grew I started reducing my nicotine level. Not surprisingly I found I was going through 2-3x the juice at lower MG levels as I was at higher levels. Must not of been ready for the reduction so I went back to higher nicotine mixes and whatdaya know? My need to vape (and amount of juice I was using) went down as well.

I still use my iTaste Clk! with a Aspire K1 mounted and filled with DIY juice however I have two TC mods in my daily rotation (the Clk! serves as my night stand apv).

It is easy to go overboard. While I have a dozen different flavors to work with I seem to always go back to the 'basics' and stick with 100% VG unflavored.

While vaping stopped my +44 year habit in its tracks does not mean it is right for everyone.

That worked for me, and for your daughter. But may not work for everyone because it is ALWAYS about mindset, too.....not just equipment. I've watched people spend the equivalent of a small downpayment on a home on vape stuff, and not succeed.

It's never "one thing" for people who are struggling. Whether that is losing weight, starting a fitness plan, quitting smoking or drinking.

I have a friend who is size 22, she wants to be slim and asked me to help. What we found out is that she is not really aware of everything she eats, and she also eats the wrong things, at the wrong time of day, and doesn't have the metabolism to overcome those behaviors. She even relates to food in a totally different way than I do. Food is fuel to me, to her it is emotional support.

She looks at a candy bar as a "reward". I look at a candy bar as a punishment because it does not advance me to where I want to go or be. LOL. I move toward what I want....she moves away from what she doesn't want (which is why diets don't work for her because she is running away so to speak.

It's complicated. ;) WE are all different. But there is always stuff that will work. We can all succeed.

Op is trying to say: i got on vape to quit analogs... now that im off analogs... why am i still on vape... time to get off

well... i've seen people quit cold turkey and never touched a cig since... i've seen people quit cold turkey and they back on it next day... its all willpower, ppl give in, ppl said enough is enough and they swear it off... vaping is... in MY opinion the best way to get off analogs, it replaces it COMPLETELY, if you get off vaping now completely, there is a chance you go back to cigarettes, my friend did, my other friend did as well... and us three swore to do vaping to get off analogs... guess what im the only one still vaping, and them two on 1/2 a pack a day now

but let me say this... dont quit on vaping... but dont go crazy on it either... take a puff when you're bored... at least it keeps you off the analogs.. have a mod with u with your favorite tank and your favorite juice... blow a cloud every few mins or hours or so... keeps you off the analogs =)

Never said different and I am the one with a Mortgage worth of Vaping collection so I understand.

Simply pointing out it does not require LOTS of BAD advice from people attempting to help to find satisfaction - It is definitely a personal decision.

Thanks for reply, didn't expect any,I have 2 mods, both 30 watts, never bought into the sub ohm,It's just not me.

This isn't exactly shinyitus or dumping a ton of money into a failing venture and Op needs to realize, at the end of the day instead of a crumpled pack, they are still there waiting for next use.(Cost is prorated over time used)

I most certianly understand frustration over finding a proper flavor choice. I ran the Gambit buying bottle after bottle of ECF member recommend Brands/Flavors - meanwhile struggling along on $1 China 10ml liquids. Sadly they were better than most at the time.
As e-liquids became better prices rose(not a lot) and I chose to DIY instead. Surprisingly My success to failure rate has been much lower than when Blind shopping.

    Op needs:
    One stable setup
    One Stable Back-up
(These are always there for use)
A Local B&M with a Tasting station and a GOOD Representative willing to listen and explain.
Sometimes hands on is the best solution.

LOL. After smoking cigars for 9 months I would have this 2 and a half gal bucket full of nasty but stubs, not so goods, and too tights. It was NASTY to look at and from a distance, looked like I was collecting turds. It was hard to deal with, what to do with them? All they represented was a REAL addiction, to a product that literally went up in smoke, and left nothing behind but a busted wallet and toxic trash.

    That bucket is long gone.

    BOL, Best of luck, :?)

I guess my question is, what is it you are seeking? Maybe just quitting smoking is enough? You quit for 9 months so something worked, yes?

I'm one who doesn't need anything new. I'm happy with what I have, but still enjoy a new tank. Sometimes I sell or pif something to make room for another. I figure as long as I spend less than I did smoking, its harmless, and I need something to do. Life isn't much fun when you're really sick and had to retire. So my vape is my entertainment now. But, yes, I could just buy juice and rebuilding supplies and batteries as needed, and I would be fine because I'm not smoking :)

I hope someday you'll be back. Good luck to you.

I also got into vaping heavy duty viking**. After 37 years of smoking I really needed to quit and nothing else had worked for me. I chain-vaped when I had to to keep myself from smoking the first few months. It was not always pretty back then for me.

I stuck with it because I knew if I didn't quit smoking somehow, cigs would probably kill me. That was good motivation for me. It made me take charge of my vaping and take it to a place that worked for me.

OTOH vaping isn't the right path for everyone. Whatever you do next know that we will always be here for you. Doesn't matter if you would like to pursue this further now or if you came back later.

Best of luck with it vicking** :thumb:

Much of this forum, to me, comes across as hobbyist, and therefore ever-changing. I run into many though that that are happy at lower levels because they are just wanting to lower their nic.

There is this new temp thing going on and, for me, I have no interest other than intellectual. And frankly, I have other things pulling on me. But I do my thing and value a decent taste.

Its been a good hobby, too. I just am comfortable making a coil instead of buying one.

Nice thing is that it can be a very big world, or a small simple world.

Whatever it is made to be, it does less damage than smoking.
