Yeah, I got one from Alien Visions a while back with a Gorilla juice / Boba's order and it was unmarked. I scratched LR into the paint so I know which one it is in my pile.

The performance difference between an LR atty and a NR atty should be enormous and immediately obvious. The vapor should be hotter, have noticeably more volume and, to me, be much more satisfying. Now that I've made the switch to LR, I'll never go back.

The only problems with LR: you'll drain batteries much faster, your atties probably won't last as long and you'll go through WAY more juice. I am a moderately heavy vaper, used to go through about 2.5mL / day, with the LR atties it's more like 4 mL / day. However, I'll also say that the more satisfying vape has completely eliminated my craving for analogs. Small price to pay for such benefits.

Buy a multimeter. Now manufacturers are giving ranges on attys and cartos. So the low end of a HR might be on the high end of a SR making them pretty much the same.

Cost less than $10 and worth having around for doing stuff like not wasting a lot of time cleaning and dry burning atty with a burned out coil.

I notch mine with a small jeweler's file so I can tell easier what they are. I don't use lr, but sr and hr depending on the juice and PV. The print is hard to read unless it is bright-for my old eyes that is.

What I did was not typical, and if you don't have a technical background, I would advise against it...

I threw all my SR atties in the trash.

Amen, brother. Though, instead of throwing my SR atties away, I took the more costly route and bought a VV mod. Now ALL of my atties are LR.... Best money I've ever spent on vaping.

I noticed on my LR 510s the hole at the very bottom of atty is bigger than my standard 510. ALso that round plate at the bottom is much wider than the regular 510 atty. That is how I tell the difference. Since my paint on my atty is all gone from my juice overflowing in my cone. Clove Juice...dissolves paint, cracks plastics. and I put it in my lungs. I can only imagine what is going on inside me.

Meters are pretty easy. They seem intimidating, but are nice little lapdogs to keep around. But only a few manufacturers stamp attomisers as LR, most do not. You will notice how hot it gets and how quickly, even the vapor. Aside from that, listening to the sizzle, its much more prominent on a LR atty. Getting real warm in about 5 seconds to the touch indicates LR. Most standard can take 10 sec. or longer to get warm to touch. But take 2-3 good draws on them side by side, you'll know which is which when you touch them, if not by the production or TH.

SEEK and Ye SHALL FIND!

Every time I read an atty thread, it boggles my mind to see how many gyrations people go through to figure out what is wrong with their attys and how to fix them. They boil them, dip them in unobtanium, and wonder if sacrificing poor Fido will cure their precious attys (or cartomizer for that matter). They look for arcane scripts written in invisible ink to tell them the resistance which can only be seen by the light of Jupiter is in conjunction with Venus.

I have torn apart and rebuilt every atty except the 3 and 4 series and various cartomizers as a survival skill in case we end up with a ban. I am not a survivalist by nature but I will not go back to tobacco after finding a way to break a 40 year habit. On April 20, it will be one year. The atty is about the only thing in an ecig that I cannot cobble together from products on the open market. I am ordering some A2's from Germany which are easy to rebuild. Normal attys are a royal PITA to rebuild, and not really cost effective for me. They range in price from $3 to $12, depending on source and type.

Other than the markings on an atty there is no way to tell what resistance it has by visual inspection. The only thing that differentiates a LR from a SR from a HR is the number of windings of the coil or the gage/type of wire used. For instance 36 gage Nichrome has a resistance of 2.25 ohms/inch. 1.5" gives you 3.5 ohms. The wire is wrapped around a wick. Add or subtract the length of wire to change the resistance.

Here is a link that show you what the inside of an atty looks like. It is meant for people wanting to rebuild an atty which I am not proposing that you do. They are really really tiny, and rebuilding is not for the faint of heart. Just peek at it to get a visual image of atty construction. Cartos are very different, especially the new style clearomizers, etc.

More importantly, here is a link that I found that tells you how to use a multimeter. IT IS REALLY EASY and will save you tons of time. You can pick one up on ebay for the price of an atty.
