I decided to start a new thread. but I got my VAMO! v5. So excited that I just popped in a battery to make sure it works fine and dandy. After vaping for a minute... I realized I think I got the wrong color. I ordered SS.... now I dont think this is SS but chrome. but some pics on google can be deceiving... so please guide me!

thoughts on what i should do?

EDIT: of course the pleasant surprise is getting a vamo but unpleasant being the color i didnt want. But i can live with it. love this thing.

You may be right. I have 4 Vamos (3 V2 and 1 V5) all stainless. The V2 stainless is very shiny but the V5 definitely has a "machined" duller look. More of a satin look.

My earlier V2 SS had the satin look but the later V2 SS that I have has a much smoother finish. Compare the tube part to the bottom cap. All of my SS came with a chrome bottom cap and SS tubes so you should see a difference.

Obviously it's hard to tell with just a photo on my computer screen, but holding up my chrome VAMO to it, it looks like chrome to me.

I got a V2 in polished stainless, actually probably chrome and another V2 with a satin finish that looks like stainless. The jury is still out on whether that one is actually stainless or not.

It's hard to tell with that pic. In another thread here a guy got the chrome but ordered a SS. We both ordered from fairy-gift and talked to him and it ended up I did get the SS. Here is a good pic to see which one you got:

yup pretty sure i got the chrome.

i emailed customer service and got a response, he seemed a bit skeptical. but i emailed him a pic. he hasnt replied back since and its been 48 hours. im going to give him benefit of a doubt and wait for a response. also i didnt get the v5 pouch =( but i guess thats just a small thing that shouldnt matter

stainless is not magnetic, so stick a magnet on it. If it sticks, it isn't SS, if it doesn't stick, most likely stainless.

If it's chrome, it's probably brass underneath and won't be magnetic either. Best way to tell for certain is look inside the tube and maybe scratch it a bit inside. If it comes up brass colored, you got a chrome one.
