got a tracking # yesterday but no signs of anything.. and the # is way weird

I wouldn't worry too much. Usps usually updates their tracking once a day some times twice if your lucky. Plus when you get your tracking number that just means the post office has received notice of a package for shipment. If you don't see any changes by this evening then I would investigate further but its too early to be overly concerned.
As noted as above give it till tonight or in the morning for the tracking process to update.

Shipped yesterday and no tracking info 24 hours later.

Just an update to my order tracking for future reference.
Tracking only updated once a day while at Monroe, WA and Kent, WA.
Once it was in my area did it start to update the tracking information as it went along like it normally would.
The ETA on the tracking wasn't correct until it reached my local postal HUB.
