I first read about Ecig's last year on the web somewhere, probably an advert or something. I live in Chicago and traveled to Vancouver earlier this year in which I saw my first Ecig smoker. She puffed away after eating her meal at a restaurant, in which we had outdoor seating. I just had to have one. (note: ive been smoking for 16 years, I am 31.)

At any rate, my (black) Blu Cig starter kit arrived yesterday by mail, in which i was worried because i had read about all the "rave" shipping reveiws Blu was receiving. I kid you not, the day i ordered the Blu, they sent me an email with a tracking number saying it had been shipped already?? I was pretty surprised by this as I had been reading blu reviews all morning long, especially the shipping/customer service pieces. I ordered it Wednesday, it arrived the following Monday (impressed). I couldnt wait to try this thing out.

I unpacked, read the instructions (which by the way could have been ALOT better), and started vaping (with the help of youtube "how to" videos).

In terms of charging, they do say it comes with a 40% charge out of the box, but I decided to charge it up all the way, they said that would take 2 hours? The blue light on the pack went off in 20 minutes? Anyways, the first 4 or 5 hits were really great, nice vapor, you can feel the the throat hit, all was good. But after those first few good hits, the amount of vapor and quality of the pull is SIGNIFICANLTLY reduced. After the first few good hits, you stop feeling the throat hit and become less satisfied because it doesnt feel good at all. So disappointed by the vapor after the first few hits. They claim 7 cigs per cartridge?? I would say its more like 1 per cartridge, which isnt very affordable. I do really like the product, and hate to be bash it, but I gotta be honest, not happy with the claims and results that Blu lead me to believe.

I have been reading about other products that may be better than Blu, in terms of vapor and lasting production, but am still in research mode. I might try that k857d-1 or something to that affect. The one that has the cartomizers? That sounds sweet and have a lot more variety in terms of flavor.

Does anyone know if the cartomizers work with the blu batteries?

Don't give up on the Blu.

Yes the cartridges don't last long, because they are so small.
So don't get your carts from Blu.
Do some looking around and buy some Ecig Liquid, then refil your carts.

Start with Johnson Creek maybe.

I've been refilling since Saturday and it works really well.
Check out the PTB Mod (Pyramid Tea Bag).
That is about the best material to use as filler in the Carts.
It works REALLY well, last longer than the stock carts, because the material wicks much better. I get lots of vapor all the way till the cart is completely dry. Instead of about half way through with the prefilled carts.

I'm at 8 days tobacco free thanks to my Blu.

I love my Blu , but you really do need to refill the cartridges yourself. Not only will you save tons of money, but you'll get beter vapor production and be able to vape all of the different flavors out there. Stuff them with Fluval. Some prefer blue foam, but I think Fluval works better in the Blu. Either is better than the stuffing that comes in them from the company. And check out Modern Vapor - they have little caps to use on your refilled carts.

The real question is how many drags did you take in what frame of time before it went south?
Because I suspect it was too many in too short a timeframe.

Check out this excerpt from the thread linke in my signature...

Dry atomizers, flooded atomizers, and wicking
Basically, you want to keep your atomizer happy with plenty of juice, but not too much as to flood it.

A good sign that it's flooded is that it gets a little harder to draw on and you get little or no vapor.
Flooding it, however, won't hurt it at all, and you can just blow out the extra juice.

Letting it get too dry, on the other hand, is not good for the atomizer supposedly.
But regardless of whether it is bad for the atomizer or not, you still don't want to do it.

You can tell it is too dry when it starts to taste like crap.
A nasty sort of burnt plastic type of taste.

One reason it might get too dry is if you burn through the juice faster than it can wick up more.
That is why people experiment with different kinds of filler materials to use in their cartridges.

If you take only a drag or two every now and then, you should be fine.
But if you use these like a cigarette, the wicking process will have trouble keeping up.
There are ways to deal with this, and people have different methods that work better for them.

And of course, when the cartridge is running low on juice, it needs topping off for this reason.

All I'm saying is it wasn't satisfying at all. I know all the company's say their carts last way over what they really do but that's to be expected. I have had Blu, and Joye and a 6-5volt mod and the blue was by far the worst. The Joye is ok and I would recommend it to everyone starting out, but if the blu and joye aren't enough then you should get a 5-6volt mod. I just think blu is lacking in every way compared to Joye (my opinion).

EDIT: Oh, and if you are a light smoker then Blu would be great for you, but if you were like me and smoked a pack and a half a day of full flavor cigarettes then you wouldn't even feel a drag off a Blu, I know I didn't and after that I got a 5volt mod. I almost gave up because of blu but luckily I did some research and it worked out great!!! Now I'm gutting my second mod soon and it will be 3.7/6/7.4volt mod... YIPPEE!!!
