I am still a newbie here so don't crush me too bad for what I am about to say. If this is in the wrong forum please let me know and place it in the appropriate location. With the disclaimer stated... I got my E Go Twist kit with the VIVI Nova 3.5 ml tank today. SUPER EXCITED!!! I have not had it long enough to do an accurate review but I have some questions before I complain. First, myfreedomsmokes was super cool with the customer service and the FREE shipping. I recieved my kit today but it was in individual bags pieced together. No problem there, it was clearly stated that it was not a JoyeTech kit. IMO that's coin savings. No biggie. There were no instructions at all though. I am a mechanic so I am pretty good with mechanical things but I aint rich so before I do something stupid out of ignorance, I wanted to read the instructions on the proper filling technique, care of my new item, ect... Please keep in mind, I have only experience with a 21st Century e cig (not complicated. Charge battery. Screw in cartomizer. Vape.) This wasn't as big a deal as I once thought. Went to the website, got the info I needed. Move out, draw fire. (Military folks know...) One of the batteries came almost fully charged (AWESOME time to vape) The other is now charging. Here's where things go a little dissapointing. I think it may just be because of my current "skill" level and lack of experience. I also ordered the mini USB passthrough VV. Need to get used to the long cord but adapt and overcome. After I filled my Nova with some Casino 21 (yummy) from mistereliquid, I tried it out. Love it so far. I decided to test the limits and see how much I could fill it. Before I could get there, I found out that the outside acrylic (?) tank wanted to unscrew before the unit as a whole. Let me see if I can adequately explain this without sounding like an idiot... The Nova tank comes in 3 pieces for the tank itself. The lower cap, if you will, the clear tank, and the top cap where the tip presses into. The center carto (for lack of better terminology) screws into the battery. When I tried to remove the unit as a whole, the outside tank wanted to unscrew before the threaded portion on the battery. Uh oh. Hmmm. What now? Because I am ignorant to this delivery system, I tried to invert the device and go with the flow and try to remove the other portion seperately. Yep! E juice all over my lap. After the cleanup, I did manage to finally get the whole tank assembly off the battery. That is my current issue. Could I have just stated that in the begining? Of course, but those of you that are laughing now would not have enjoyed it so much. I am definately not dissatisfied with the product but don't you think they could have informed me that this could potentially be a problem? Both of my Novas are the same way. Without trying to break it with too much torque on the acrylic threading, I tried to tighten it more than the battery connection but still it wants to unscrew before the battery does. What am I supposed to do? I even tried not tightening the unit on the battery very tight and, still... I can leave the asthetic cone off but shouldn't it function properly like it is without having to leave that item off? Chime in with critisism and comments please, but remember I'm not stupid but very new to these devices.

For the record, Yes the torque required to spin the top off the device is more than the torque required to spin the device off the small threading. Keep in mind that the threads in the eGo are machined, and the base metal that is also machined. This metal to metal connection is easier to remove than the acryllic to metal. Be that as it may, I make it a habit to hold the tank by the body(acrylic) when removing the top for filling. Conversely when I am removing the whole device from my battery I only use the bottom knurling to grip while removing it. There will be hiccups with these and other devices, Its not uncommon to have to learn these things the hard way(as most of us have) at least you have a great new setup. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

yup always unscrew it by the bottom closest to the battery...then hold the tank and unscrew the top for filling...or keep taking it apart for cleaning. you should be able to break it down into 5 pieces (including the drip tip) for cleaning.

if this isn't the problem you were trying to convey please hit us again with the problem and we'll get you set straight

Interested to see what the pro's say about this as I was about to order some Vivi Nova's myself!

Based on my current OPINION I would still go with it. It is a rather nice setup.

I did try to grab it by the knurled portion. With the asthetic cone, it makes it a little difficult to hold onto just that portion. Maybe it's just because I got fat fingers lol

anyone have problems w/ dry burning the black crap off the wicks w/ these? im wondering if i should just buy some replacement wicks, the heads seem to last much longer than the wicks on these things...or maybe i should just make the jump to rba's and be done :D

No, When do you clean these(how often)? I make it a habit to do a rinse and dry burn at the 5 tank mark. I wape a sweet, clear VG menthol . Every liquid is different, but generally darker and sweeter would warrant cleaning sooner, clearer usually requires less frequency. So I anyway I normally can run in excess of 90ml of liquid before the performance begins to warrant changing/recoiling the head.

I do rewick and recoil my vivi heads and I must say that they are stunningly easier than my genesis style rebuilable.......

i've been cleaning and dryburning every 2 tanks (on both my 3.5 and 2.5ml) and still have black crap on the wicks...i've taken the wicks out, soaked them and rinsed/quick soaked in vodka and still get black crap after 1 tank of juice put through...idk what the deal is lol. im vaping mostly hypnotic mist these days which is basically clear, tinted slightly yellow so...idk. it doesn't really affect taste i guess, probably just a psychological thing (im a little ocd) :D
