Yea I hear you on that. To tell you the truth I wouldn't want to be the one doing the review, for some reason people seem to already decided if this is god's gift or a turd with a fancy interface. Just to have an interface is something that you love or don't, no middle ground here.
Well, I'm a gadget geek so I can put up with overwrought interfaces if it pleases my inner nerd. At least for a while. Even without having used it yet though (possibly tomorrow if Canada Post sorts it out in time) I can tell that it already needs a fair bit of work. Fortunately, the majority, if not entirety, of what's wrong with it can be fixed with firmware updates, which is really where this thing's strength is going to lie: Problem fixing and feature changes/additions without having to buy a whole new device. Which is why I also know that I'm not going to come down too hard on one side or the other with my initial review and do (a) followup(s) when a new firmware version is released so I can see how it's improved.
And let's face it, Joyetech themselves already said the initial release is little more than fresh out of beta and a new version is already in the works, so I get the feeling they already know at least some of the kinks that need to be worked out.
