Bought an AGAT2 and got it today. I had some 32 kanthal already. Tried a Peter K method , meh blew the top coil. Tried to wrap on the wick and put it in wrapped, meh blew the coil. Tried a few other things to no use. Then on my filth attempt I just said screw it, out the wick in connect the negative wrapped it on the wick, connect the positive and fired it up. After a few pulses and a jab here and there it lit right up. My provari measures it at 1.4 ohms.

Man do I LOVE the vape on this thing. I'm barely through my first tank and its already amazing. I'm pretty sick right now and can't taste anything. And even with my taste buds as they are this tastes great. I've got the full screw out right now and I am having zero wicking issues. Gonna put it in later and see what happens.

Running on my natural with sanded contacts.

I will also give a big thank you to all of the amazing people here who post great info. It allowed me to do this inside 30 minutes and be super happy with it.

Also a question. My provari is reading it 1.4 ohms. I know on my mechanical that its just getting whatever the battery is throwing at it, so like 4.1 to 3.7 volts. So if I want to use it on my provari mini I also got today should I just be vaping it at 4 volts then.

I'd start around 3.4 volts & bump up/down from there to see what tastes best to you. About 2 volts above the ohms reading usually tastes best to me, but of course everyones taste is different.

I wholeheartedly agree with this as a general rule. But that's about where I max out at... Usually I'm between 1.5 & 2.0 volts above the resistance number. Personal preference prevails...YMMV

It depends on the juice. The ohm/volt charts and adages about x number of volts above the resistance sort of go out the window with genesis RBAs. I've vaped gennys at 14-15 watts on a vv device, which translates to 4.4-4.5 volts, with a 1.4 ohm coil. I've vaped as low as 3.5 volts. Again, it's all about finding the juice's sweet spot.

Yeah I'm not really a stranger to the voltage and wattage charts etc. I've been vaping the 1.4 coil at 4.1v and it seems to be about the sweet spot on the provari

Sorry should have added I know they also go out the window with RBAs. I think when I get my 100ft of 32g this week ill experiment with like a .9 twisted on my mechanical :)

Cool. I see where a lot of folks vape low ohm/hi volts but every time I've tried it w/my poor wicks & any of the 50/50 juices I'm using I get tons of vapor but w/a bad burnt taste. Maybe I'm not getting good enough wicking for it?

Maybe I just lucked out on my first wick but it wicks great. I believe burnt taste is from hotspots. If I have the fill screw in then I get a hot spot at about 5 seconds of holding the fire button. If I have the fill screw out and tilt the device to about 70 degrees (which for me is a comfortable vape) I can hit the 16 second provari cut off without a hot spot.

definately sounds like poor wicking and then a dry hit. i run a .8 ohm coil with 26awg 3/4 wrap on 325 mesh with a hollow core. i vape high vg liquids. when i start vaping from a cold start, with my cap off and device tilted i'll pre-heat the wick by pulsing til the coils turn red and with each wicking in between pulses (3 sec pulse, 2 sec gaps) you will start to see the juice wick faster. by the 4th pre-heat cycle juice is all ready to drip off the wick. cap on and the genny is primed for chain vaping.

Got my first 2 rebuildables today... AGA-T2 and a SmokTech RDA. I'd like to take a moment to thank all you folks on this forum and youtube for all the great advice and info... without you guys, this would not be possible for me.

RDA went first without a hitch... factory coil is fine so far and this RDA is a powerhouse beast compared to the ancient, nearly year old Joye 510s I've been vaping on since I returned to vaping a few weeks ago. Now tonight I made my first coil for the AGA. Got an OP error on my provari. Thanks to all the reading and viewing on youtube, I was pretty easily able to identify the problem... I didn't tighten the bottom screw on the pos post all the way down first. Did that, re-coiled, and got a beautifully even glowing coil after a few adjustments at 1.4ohm. Oh the joy!!!

And the icing on the cake... I christened both RBAs with the last 15mls of BWB Ry4 I had left since 6 months ago. Ha... probably the last know quantity of this bygone and highly missed juice left in the world. Oh, this is good vaping!

Grats. I agree on the forums and YouTube thing. There's no way I would have got a great wick and coil in the first hour if not for all the info and videos. The genesis trailblazers deserve some props for sure.

I think ill buy that Smok RSST as soon as its available in Canada , I really like the looks of it.

I agree on the vape being great. I'd read all about how awesome genesis attys are blah blah , but you really don't get it till you try it. I've ran about three tanks through this wick and coil now and the flavour is crazy. I bought 100mls of Cherry juice last month , and in my carto tank it tasted a bit like cherry cough syrup, it was ok but not great. On this broken in genny setup it's fantastic, it tastes almost like cherry cool aid in it.

Yes indeed the RBA vape is incredible! My first AGA T2 set-up was like yours - I could hardly believe the rich thick flavorful vapor I was getting! Then I whacked the wick/coil w/the top after a refill & I never could get it working the same again. Now, almost 2 weeks (& many attempts) later I can repeat that performance every time. The only nagging issue has been repeating hotspots. But thanks to good advice from a forum friend (thanks Scoop!) I think I may have that last hurdle whipped. - RBA's ROCK!!!
