This may be the wrong forum, please feel free to move to wherever is best. I received my Nautilus mini in the mail. Read the little booklet, filled up the tank, gave it a whirl...ok all good so far...put it down for a bit and came back and the liquid is leaking out of the airflow valve. Took it apart, cleaned it all up and made sure the coil was on good (I think I didn't have it on tight enough) and started over. So far no leaking, ok great. So here's my set up...got it on a Smok 1300 vv battery, I have a 70/30 VG/PG juice in it. I've been messing around with the volts and airflow valve trying to find what's best. I'm still not getting much flavor and the coils have been soaked for a plenty long time. I've got the same juice in my EVOD 2 on a regular ego battery and it has a warmer more flavorful vapor. What I the heck am I doing wrong here? Lol. A ton of people have said this tank is going to give me way better flavor and vapor and no more leaking on the battery. Surely I'm doing something wrong even after messing with different settings...

When they leak out the airflow it's usually because the coil isn't tight. With that specific battery you can turn the voltage up quite a bit. I am pretty certain you can turn it up all the way, but start low and work your way up. If it gets too warm or tastes burnt than back it down. Every vape device/tank has their own personality, and once you get used to it you'll find it's a really really dependable tank. Remember to turn the battery back down when you switch back to the evod 2.

From what you've shared, it sounds like you are doing everything right unless we're missing something.

One thing that I've learned from over three years of vaping, is there is no single setup which is right for EVERYONE. Hence there are so many different models to choose from, which is a good thing. If your Evod 2 gives you a better vape, then so be it and continue with that. There are also those who believe that every device can be tweaked to provide a great vape, so maybe someone else will have suggestions to tweak your Nautilus Mini.

Did you properly prime the head before filling tank & threading together?

4 ~ 8 drops (depending on size of drops) on top of screen in head to fully saturate wicking material, then thread the pieces together, fill tank and let it sit a few minutes, then a few un powered primer puffs.
Start off at a low power setting & slowly work your way up, it takes a few mls to ' break in ' a new / unused head.

I think I got it!!!!! I wasn't holding the button down long enough to let the coils heat up properly. At least in changing that up a bit it seems to have given me some more flavor. The air flow valves, if I open those up a bit more is their purpose for more flavor or more vapor. I am playing with it, but more trying to understand their purpose. This is probably the most "advanced" tank I've ever had. LOL!

You'll find your spot with it. I don't concern myself with the vapor aspect as much as I do flavor, as I'm not into cloud chasing with any of my equipment. I'd suggest searching for the right flavor/ power setting, then when you get close change the airflow to see how it changes the vape for you.

Interesting, doing a slow draw mouth to lung hit, I get more vapor and a little warmer vape with a smaller hole (I use 2nd smallest hole) not the larger ones. Which makes sense to me because you draw in more juice per volume with less outside air coming in.

Ok I see. So the air flow is more for the vapor. I will mess with that once I get the flavor the way I want. I'm not as concerned with tons of vapor. I'm just glad this is working now. And importantly, so far no leaking on the battery. That is quite nice! I think I shall get used to this :)

I use the Nautilus Mini sitting on top of an MVP 2 running at 11 watts, with the airflow on the tank wide open, just make sure the coil head is screwed into the base tightly(but obviously not too tight) to help prevent leaking. Also you don't need to tighten the tank base with the silicon bit too tightly onto the glass section either, I would over-tighten it the first few times I refilled it, making it difficult to unscrew again, it really is pretty leak proof you'd be surprised.

Good luck, I have a sub-ohm setup but keep using my Nautilus Mini the most, it's a great tank and you're gonna love it once you get use to it. :)

I noticed that when I refilled the tank earlier when it had leaked and so I will have to not tighten quite so much. But the coil was definitely not on tight enough the first time I tried it out. I have it on 4.4V with the third airflow notch on and it is pretty decent right now. But I have no doubt I will continue to mess with it all night. All my other tanks are no brainer Evods and a Protank so this is completely new to me. But, it already gets a gold star for the no leaks on the battery. I hate that, it freaks me out to have liquid get down on the battery.

Huh, and now I turned it back down to 3.8V and it seems to taste better *scratches head* well this is fun in a weird and slightly confounding way. Lol.
Some people prefer a higher voltage in the morning and a lower voltage at night. Also, your eliquid will taste better once the atomizer is broken in.

I had to play around with a lot of different power levels and air flows to find one I liked, and sometimes it changes depending on the liquid. I have never ever had a leak on miy two Nautilus Mini's, you are right, you have to ensure the coil is tightened all the way down. and the base should not be tightened too much, just lightly snugged down, so it will be easier to take off next time - it has a great seal, and should not leak. I also find that using a paper towel around the metal base makes for a better grip when taking it off the glass. FYI, I vape second or third smallest air holes, around 8W, 3.8 to 3.9V. 70/30 to 60/40 pg/vg, sometimes I go up a little higher for 50/50 pg/vg. I am sure you will find what works for you :)

Ok so day 2, it's getting better! Might have to get one more of these. I have two flavors I vape a lot so I think two of these mini's will be good for those. Does anyone have theirs in one of those metal sleeves to protect the glass? Wondering if it is worth it to get some. I have broke a Protank before so I'm considering it.

It might be worth it. I know myself, so when I got my nautilus, I purchased an extra glass tank at the same time. I think it was about $5. So far, I haven't needed it, but I'm sure I'll be glad I have it some day. That's another option.

I think the metal sleeve is only available for the full sized nauti, but could be wrong. Haven't paid much attention to them since I went RBA. The smaller AFC holes will give yo more flavor and conserve juice, but the bigger ones will give you better clouds. Make sure you keep your tank clean. You will find a small amount of juice in the AFC chamber under the coil once in a while no matter what. Vapor will condense in the draw tube and settle down there. Every few tanks or so, pull the coil out and give the base a proper washing or this condensation will turn to a nasty sludge. As the coils age, you will likely find yourself messing with the settings again since the coils start to wear a lil long before they are goners. You can prolong their life by gently, and I stress GENTLY cleaning the metal screen on the top of the coil. It will gunk up and hurt flavor production. I used a clean, dry paper towel to blot the screen. If you ever accidentally damage the screen or it sticks t the towel and comes out, the coil is a goner for sure. Some folks say you can soak the coils to clean them, but I never had any luck with it. But you have a solid piece of gear to vape on. :thumb:

Hey Clo! Welcome, and glad you're finding your "vape nirvana". They do make the metal sleeves for the Nauti Mini: Aspire Nautilus Mini Hollowed Out Sleeve - $7.95 - WORLDofVAPE

This was one place I saw that had them. There might be others (possibly for a little less money, too.) I have two full-sized and one Mini. Fate has been good to me - haven't needed a replacement sleeve (glass or other) yet.

I might bite on some one of these days :)
