I use mine on a provari, I build my silica rbas quite a bit higher resistance than my gennys. This one is metering 2.8ohms and I'm running it at 5.1 volts with a peach mix, 50/50. Nice thick vapor and great flavor. I absolutely love this thing! easy to build and very portable. I'm thinking about trading one of my DIDs for another one.

I guess I should have wiped it off before I took the pic LOL.
I was at a party last night and had it with me.. 2 people asked me why I had a screwdriver in my hand :glare:

Donnah - if you could tell me HOW THE HELL you get those things to wick properly, I'd love you forever. I've had my spheroid for like... a year - and I gave up working with that Sera Fluff stuff after my Penelope came. It either covers me in juice, or is too tight and doesn't wick. Seriously, I've spent weeks with the thing trying different lengths and widths for filler by the MM and I think it really just hates me.

the trick is just enough to go around the post once, too tight and it doesnt hold much at all/ and too loose and it all runs out. and make sure the ends of the wick touch the fluff. i make a bowtie style wick. and can get about 2.5 ml in the fluff. scott at ecigreviews does a decent tutorial on rebuildint it.

I mean, I've built the thing millions of times I really just don't think that Fluff and I get along. My wicks are always touching it - it just doesn't like being friendly.

took me a couple tries also. maybe its not wet enough? (just guessing) as i used to let it sit for a long time upside down and make sure it was soaked.

just checking maybe the resistance is too low for the wick, or the wick material itself is not working well i use 3 mm wick in mine and it chokes me down, sucks man this is one stellar atty that pumps out the vapor and flavor when its working right

I'll take it out of the drawer and play with it for a while tomorrow. I've been using 3mm around 1.7ohms... I'll keep at it.

It's pretty much like thrasher said. Mine has worked perfectly from my first build (OK.. maybe my second) I watched scott's video and pretty much just did what he did.

I use 30 or 32g kanthal, and make lots of wraps to get the resistance up in the mid 2ohm range. When I wrap my wick (3mm) I double it, when I install it, I leave the loop sticking up to touch the sera and I cut the tails off on the other side so when I put it together, I just stick the loop up into it and screw it on.. no juicy fingers or mess (OK..not much of a mess) I didn't measure the amount of filler I used, I've been using the same filler since I've had it, a couple months now maybe. I just rinse it out every once in awhile. Not too much that it's packed tightly and not too little.

It's a whole lot easier (to me) than wrapping 28g around a ss mesh wick without leaving any gaps (which I just finished struggling with :glare: Geez.. I hate 28g but have to use it to get the resistance down to .8 )

If you want, Pm me.. you can send it to me, with a little of whatever juice you want in it, and I'll build it for you and send it back :)

This is what my coil looks like, it probably needs changing ... the coils are getting black. I left more than enough of the loop to touch the filler, next time I'll probably make the loop smaller...or I might not, it's working so well with it that size.

Here is what the inside looks like with the filler..

Like I said, I'll be glad to build it for you. Yawn.. going to bed now.. gotta get up for work at 6!

I use a McDonalds straw slip my filler around it to measure just enough for it to touch, then cut it and keeping the straw covering the bell slide my filler down into the bell of the spheroid. Worked the first time like a pro. I usually run 30g nc vs kantha tho. I would like to try the ribbon wire on it just haven't gotten any yet and Idk what size I should use. Anyone?

This page from Temco has a chart showing the ribbon thickness and their round wire equivalent.

I've been trying to get my hand on a Spheroid for a while now, but it's always out of stock. I finally broke down a couple of weeks ago and picked up a A7-oid from Captivape. It works well enough, but it doesn't hold as much juice as the real deal Spheroid. If anyone knows of an online shop that has them in stock, I'd really appreciate it.

They announce Vapourart stock updates in the GP advanced notifications thread.

Or you could get one second hand, in the classifieds here or elsewhere. I have one on the way shortly and can't wait to try it. I've heard so many great things about the flavor and consistency of this atty, and I have a 16mm mod (temon) that's been waiting for a 16mm atty.

I traded my zap for the one I now have. I'd like to get another one, new this time but we'll see... I'm pretty much over spending $100+ for a RBA. I haven't had any problems with mine wicking, maybe I just lucked up and got the right amount of filler the first try. I have more problems getting my wires to stay under the nuts when I tighten them (Scott makes it look so easy!) ..maybe they're a little stripped or something. I have an A7 with the oid attachment and it just doesn't measure up to the spheroid. The A7oid is a hot vape where the gp spheroid is cooler. The gp holds more juice and I don't really like the narrow mouth piece that the oid on the A7 has, it feels like I'm sucking on one of those coffee stirrer straws LOL.

I believe that right now.. if I were forced to get rid of everything I have and only keep one setup.. it would be the gp spheroid and a provari.

That's a pretty nice endorsement from someone who's had as many attys as you have.

Perseas actually shows a diagonal setup unlike Scott's in the Tips & Tricks thread, more like the A7 setup, but there's a decent setup video in post #3 doing it like Scott does, with both legs on the inside and the coil over the posts.

Donnah, you're absolutely right on the straw-like tip on the a7oid. But it does the job for what I'm looking for, which is dripper performance without the constant dripping (and leaking for that matter).

Really hoping to finally get a hold of one next week. Thanks for the heads up peoples. Now I gotta figure out how I'm gonna afford the 16mm airflow cap for the nemesis.

I've set mine up both ways.. diagonal and with both legs on the inside.. both ways work about the same. It's easier to do it the way Scott shows though. This is just a really great all around atty.. easy to build, pocketable and performs wonderful. My only problem.. my favorite juice, a diy peanutbutter/bavarian cream mix tastes better in a mesh rba for some reason. I use the spheroid for my peach mix, the peach flavor really pops in it..but peach isn't my main juice.. so I'm still stuck using a genny for my peanutbutter. :glare:

I haven't really had a lot of attys.. but I've had at least one of each type and the GP spheroid is my favorite when it comes to ease, flavor, vapor and best of all... NOT HAVING TO KEEP THE DANG THING UPRIGHT ALL THE TIME! lol

Good stuff to know. Mine's on the way and I'm sure it'll take a build or two to get it optimal (fingers crossed). I'll try the Scott both-legs-inside method first. I've really never gone wrong following one of his builds.

Interesting on the flavor. I'll be curious to see how it will do with absinthe, or my two favorite tobacco flavors (coumarin and blueberry).

They're on par with all of my silica RBA's if that's any hint at what flavor to expect.
