I tried searching for a similar topic but didnt see anything in the first 6-7 pages so my apologies if this has been covered.

I'm really wanting a Reo. So much that I am thinking about trading my other mod for one. I've been doing a lot of research (lol love the squonking term!) and I have one burning question. Which one do I get?

From what I can tell the grand is bigger (suprise!) so it can have a bigger bottle (6ml) and bigger batt (18650) and the mini is... well, smaller. So does all it come down to really is what size you like best? Being a guy with largish hands would I be just fine getting the grand since it has more capacity?

I know many of you have both (or possibly more reos than I have fingers lol) which one do you prefer? Which one would you recomend to someone as their first? (I wouldn't doubt that I would get another one down the road) Thanks in advance!

They are both wonderful. I have small hands, vape about 3 ml per day and adore the Mini. How much liquid do you vape each day, and how important is it to you that you be able to go all day without switching your battery? The Mini is just a little bigger than a zippo, and can easily slip into a shirt pocket and tuck into your palm for stealthing. The Grand is an all day warrior that can also take other battery set ups for 5v or 6v vaping.

This is the best picture of the relative size http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...urements-parts-terminology-8.html#post3092444

I was weighing the benefits of both before I purchased, and I chose the Grand. I'm very pleased with the choice that I made.

I had a bottom feeder mod and had used the AW 14500 IMR batts. They are nice, but they are rated at 600 mAh. The AW 18650 IMR in the Grand is 1600 mAh, well over double the life of the 14500s.

Since I find that using new style 808s is fine when I am out in public, the REO was going to be my home PV. Given the substantial improvement in battery life with the 18650, the Grand was the right choice for me. It's too big--at least for me--to take it out of the house, but I already had that covered.

If you're looking for portability, consider the mini. If you're leaving it at home, I think the Grand is the better choice because of battery life. Really, you can't go wrong with either one. I did a lot of reading up before I bought a REO, and I have to say that they live up to the hype--and that's saying something considering the following they have.

Good luck

Ah yes, voltage options for the grand are the tipping point for me. I totally forgot about that. That pretty much makes the decision for me. I do like a portable mod, but I have been lugging the provari with XL clearomizers around for months now so I think the grand wouldn't be any more difficult to move around than that.

Thank you guys for your input!

The age old question. Well small and compact the mini...little bigger with more juice and battery life the grand. Both hit great so no difference there and their both just as rugged so maybe....both! :)

I bought a Mini for me, and a Grand for my husband. We actually ended up switching after the first day....I hate switching batteries, and he thought the Grand was too big for his shirt pocket. I keep the Grand in my shirt pocket- but I don't deal with customers face to face, so it doesn't really matter how it looks.

The Mini isn't too small for "man hands" and I didn't find the Grand too big for me after about a week. I have big, but skinny hands.

I have no problem with the size of the Grand. I take it everywhere with me and vape in public with it. I just use it at 3.7 with the 18650 battery. I can throw it in a shirt pocket and its fine...ymmv.

I have a small camera case that is a perfect fit for the grand and it resides on my belt. Its more secure there than in my pocket.

I think if you are a heavy vaper the Grand is hard to beat. For someone that doesn't vape too much the Mini would do the trick. If you want to experiment with different voltages then the Grand is the way to go.

As others have said you won't go wrong either way...and chances are you very well may end up with both.

I have both, and if (IF) I could only have one...(ugh! that would be AWFUL!!!) I'd have to pick the Grand. I use it lots more than I do the Mini just because of the bigger battery. Not only does it last longer, but it hits better for longer. The little 14500 batteries (Mini) wear down a little faster than the 18650s, and I really, really like that fresh-off-the-charger hits. Just my opinion. Now....if you REALLY want the perfect (and I mean perfect) mod...get a Woodvil. It has everything and hits like you wouldn't believe..... :)

Didnt read any of the replies but figured id add my 2 penny's

I think it boils downs to your vaping if you are always on the go and need more batt/juice life then a grand should be your first choice....
ANd its still quite small for being a grand Batt life and juice life should last you all day to the next if your vaping more then 6mls a day take a extra bottle your good to go i have never vaped a 18650 to death

However the Mini packs a serious punch in such a small package its a true power house LR with a HD batt can last 6-8 hours of pretty hard vaping and you get small stealth size its small and compact but not small to the point of a large person with big handed guy/girl could not use it with comfort I love the mini sometimes more so then my grand its just Honestly one of the Best mods ever made...IMO

I am leaning toward the grand. I am curious, however, what is it about the woodville that makes it hit better?

And thank you everyone for your replies, very helpful!

Here are my thoughts on the matter. If you plan getting both at some point get the mini first. If you are only going to have one get the grand.

The reason is that the grand really does hit a lot better. At least with mine. Getting the mini first then the grand you will be tickled pink with the grand. That's better than the other way around and having fleeting disappointment.

The mini does fit in the watch pocket of jeans very nicely and is my short errand PV.
Disclaimer:Unless you paint on your jeans like the pair I just put on.

Thank you everyone for your input! I am going to get the grand, I like the idea of more options. I dont mind that its a bit bigger. I have been using another bottom feeder for the last 2 days and it has been AWESOME! I wish I would have discovered this before! The 18650 sounds more appealing since it will have a longer window of "optimal" charge. Thanks again everyone!

Two things...
one, the minis are available right now, the grands will be ...next week I think?
Two, I'm from SE Michigan originally...so hey...Welcome to reoville...

Altho the grand might be the better choice for you, most of us end up with more than one REO....I have 6 sitting here, between the wife and I....just sayin...

I agree with Erfmann, a lot of us do have more than 1 REO. I have 3 Minis and 1 Grand, and will go into Ninja Attack mode if anyone tries to take one from me! The minis will last all day, if you get a small battery pouch, throw an extra battery or two and an extra bottle of juice in it, and the battery pouches are quite small 2.5 x 3in and wouldn't take up much room in a pocket or bag or they have a key ring attched, just hook it on your belt loop.
