Well I ordered my extra batteries and more cartos, late monday night. I received my shipment today in the mail. Great! That is alot better than my first order that took 2 1/2 weeks. Nice to see everything getting better. Just need to get stock supplies built up, new wesite running, sample packs in all nic levels, the new unseen pcc, da fusion juice!!, and the super mini batteries. Then everyone should be happy!

the new site may be up in 5 weeks. there is a lot that needs to be added. the SKUs alone are whats taking so much time. trust me as soon as i get a launch date I will inform everyone immediately.

Okay, the issue that I think causes the most customer service headaches is the fact that on the current web-site people can order out-of-stock items. That creates work for Bloog cs having to contact people, etc., and many people have said they were not notified that their order was not being shipped yet due to an out-of-stock item.

Is there anything Bloog can do to handle the out-of-stock situation better and more consistently until the new website is available?

thanks Red. I hope it includes a Qty of stock available too. Makes a huge difference to see there is 100 instead of only 3. I see that on Liberty Flights, if he needs an idea of how-to.

I think your IT/webmaster guy is screwing with you. All the assets (artwork, design, etc.) are already in place, unless this is a complete redesign. Cart software is pre-written and easily available (even for free), and already in place.

I did web design for several years in the early 2000s. Things were a lot more difficult then, and we used to turn out new design websites in four weeks, complete with e-commerce features, stocking updates, etc. Rolling out changes might take a week or two, and we were writing code from scratch. You think a guy like Don at BWB has a full-time IT guy on staff? Even he has stock updates.

Sorry, I was under the impression (from Toni) probably a month ago that the new site was around the corner, not 5 weeks (which in web design speak means 8 weeks) from implementation, meaning a total time in the range of 10-12 weeks total.

Oh well, at least it's coming eventually.

yeah its a complete redesign. I saw the graphics and I was impressed.

I wonder why they thought that was necessary? It's one of the nicest-looking vendor sites out there, IMO.

Another thing that is pretty much a necessity would be to get order security, like Verisign or something. Gives me the heebie jeebies to enter a credit card without it.

The checkout process is secure. It's https, verified by COMODO CA Ltd. Their certificates are up-to-date. I never enter CC information into un-secure connections.

Oh! Well then. Don't I feel stupid. I never heard of that one, so it didn't catch my eye. Thanks for the good news.

You're using Firefox 4, so when you get to the checkout process on any site, check two things: the URL should start with "https://" instead of just "http://", and look to the left of the URL in the address bar and you'll see a blue section if it's secure. Click on that blue section to see their credentials. It's similar in other browsers, although it might be green, or color the whole URL a different color, show a lock or a key, etc.
