I tried all of them...lol. Aside from the fun factor, a standard micro coil with .28ga at 1.2 ohms with a cotton wick works as good as anything on a standard regulated mod. I really like a .7 or .8 ohm micro with .26ga on a dna30 at about 20 watts. Thats pretty nice too. Navy nest, parallel, double barrel.....meh. They're fun to build and experiment with but after a year of using kayfuns, I always go back to the standard builds. I think they work best.

Love my chimney coil build. It's the one that Rip Trippers had the tutorial on. I build mine with 28g kanthal to a 1.6 ohm coil. I feel the airflow is more open than it is with the horizontal coils.

I tried the chimney build (with out watching a tutorial, just winging it off a picture) and I couldn't get the wicking right, kept getting dry hits. Any tips?

Yeah, im just on a MVP right now, I usually always go back to the 28g micro, usually between 1 and 1.5 ohm. Glad to know I figured that much out, lol.

I've tried various gauges and resistance. Got dry/burnt hits more frequently with the 30 gauge and fewer wraps. My preferred build is 28 gauge- 9 or 10 wraps on a 5/64 drill bit for 1.3 to 1.5 ohms.

Cotton wick: just enough to fill the coil with a little resistance. NOT TOO LONG! Just long enough to wet with juice and tuck the ends under- right next to the channels.

a simple 28g standard coil works about as good as anything else. i have tried every set up possible at every resistance possible, in the end they are all very close for sure. if your using a basic vv device 28g wire with a standard horizontal coil works just as good as any possible other set up, period. now if your into much higher wattages then there are configurations that will make the kayfun work better but your not going to really get any better then a 28g standard coil for the most part

I rarely agree with anything said by people with animal hats, but I will have agree with this.......

I've been using 28g, around 11 wraps around 5/64 drill bit, and it worked great on my Provari at 1.8 to 2.0 ohms. Out of curiosity, I tried 30 guage wire to see if I could use less wraps, but it was a little thinner and harder to work with (for me). So, I went back to the 28g. I'll try 7 or 8 wraps for a lower ohm reading.

that's what I been doing, I been wondering if 28g. kanthal would be better, although I do wrap it a bit tighter.
Maybe I'll try a bit looser and see what happens....
