This does seem like great news for MAKERS....but for Sellers and resellers this is likely to get very sticky! If e-Cigs are to be treated as tobacco, there will be a slough of new regulations as to how our products are marketed and sold! There will also likely be compliance issues that will arise. There is a lot left undetermined at this point. A good first step? Sure. An outright victory? I think not...yet!

We'll see how the whole thing turns out. It's evident that the FDA will propose restrictions, taxes, and control over how they work, where they are sold, and all sorts of regulations over their use. I don't want to see huge taxes on ejuice, although I would like to see more testing on the effects and safety of vaping.

I don't think they can, my mother goes to a place where they use pure tobacco and you make your own cigs. They have machines that YOU do it, but they walk you through it. Since you're doing it yourself it's not taxed like regular cigs, it's actually pretty cheap she said it's about $25 a carton (this is in South Floride where premium cigs are about $60 a carton). The plus side is that there's have no nicotine and it's pure tobacco so less or no chemical (not sure but pretty sure there isn't any chemicals), but you still get tar. I was gonna go that route to quit but then stumbled upon eCigarettes and chose that route. My mother was a 2-3 pack a day 100s smoker, it took her 3 months to get off the nicotine.

For the DIY of cig, that not gonna happen in Singapore. I guess maybe someday some gonna setup a one stop diy liquid store for cooking or baking cakes, at the same time can be use for e-cig vaporizing purpose. Hmmm. This gonna be cute to see how government finding ways to tax us.

The FDA approves of tobacco cigs. We all know they aren't safe.

Ecigs are obviously much better for us than tobacco. Unless they discover that long term use of PG and VG has detrimental effects on our health, we should be OK.

As far as taxes are concerned, all the FDA has to do is implement a tax on all ecig devices at point of sale. Then, you will see an added tax on your mail order hardware and juices.
