Greeley Colorado bans E-cigs

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Greeley is banning the use of electronic cigarettes inside vapor shops. After months of discussion, the city council voted 6-1 Tuesday to treat e-cigarettes like traditional cigarettes and include them in Greeley's current public smoking ban.

E-cigarettes are battery-operated devices that deliver nicotine and flavor through an inhaled vapor..The Greeley Tribune reports.that the shops, Smokeless CG Vapors and Vapor Core, have offered spots for customers to use the devices or sample products. Both businesses have said that they need to allow customers to sample their products in order to survive.

Using e-cigarettes in any business will be punishable by a fine of up to $500.

I am just amazed that, in a state that legalized a certain illicit substance mind you, certain cities are doing this... I mean, Greeley is a College and farming town... It already smells terrible. Who cares?!

From what I understand if you like being oppressed in every way imaginable Greeley is the place for you. They didn't even get around to legalizing alcohol until almost 1970! The little town next door does brisk business in all the "evil vices" the upstanding citizens of Greeley would deny you. Odd thing is most of the business in that town comes from Greeley.

Just another one of those towns that acts holier than thou on the outside but secretly does all the things they claim to be against. Just like dry counties etc where they have 3 huge liquor stores a stones throw from the county line. Those are NOT right there to supply the people in that county booze, they are there because of all the people in the dry county going to buy their booze!

I know people who have left Greeley, and many more who would never move here. Mostly because of the poor school system and rampant gang activity. Maybe the council feels as though they have to control something. Kind of like a person that gets beat up and then goes home and kicks the dog.
