I have smoked since I was 15... now 26 years as I turned the odometer over to 41 in April :toast:

Started Camel Lights, then UltraLights and over the last decade mostly Marlboro UltraLights. The last year Marlboro Gold (Lights) because I could get them cheaper than Silver (UltraLights). Pretty much a pack day average... sometimes more if I'm partying :vapor: sometimes less if I'm hungover

I read a lot about how vaping is different than smoking and you need to adjust... etc... BUT, apparently I have not been smoking my analogs properly all this time

Upon closely observing my smoking technique, it seems it is pretty close to what the vaping technique is. I take a small drag on my smoke via a short mouth suck (sorry, best terminology I could come up with), and then a very shallow inhale from there...

My Green Smoke kit arrived Saturday morning... here is where things go off the rails crazy for me. Just one extremely small drag and it is like I smoked 10 cigs right in row... hardcore with deep inhaling and no breaks in between. Apparently all these years I haven't been inhaling deep enough to even get a nicotine high, because just one Green Smoke hit and I have a nicotine high like I have never experienced before in my life... well maybe like a Djarum clove, but I haven't smoked one of those since High School... but I vaguely remember getting one hell of a buzz off of those bad boys ;)

I have both Light/1.2% and Ultra/0.6% Flavormax cartos, and quite honestly I get just as high off of either strength??? I am so confused??? I thought I would have to vape more than I used to smoke??? Everything I read talked about how less effective vaping was at delivering nicotine vs cig smoke etc... for me it appears to be the complete opposite8-o

I have never quit smoking because I enjoy it, with how advanced the ecig technology is nowadays... I figured it would be the perfect time for me to make the switch. I am way more addicted to the ritual and act of smoking than I am to nicotine (very obvious to me now), am I going to have to go Zero nicotine right off the bat???

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Any insight?

I also have a Halo Triton due to arrive tomorrow with 2 Halo sample tins (but they are all 1.2%), I am hoping maybe its the overall ingredients in the Flavormax that are getting me so damn high and I will be able to vape on the Halo juice more frequently... fingers crossed...

If I could vape even half as much as I used to smoke, I would be in heaven... but one hit will last me for 1-3 hours... 2-4 hits will last me 2-5 hours or more!!! Any more hits and I start to get real dizzy and nauseous...

Dazed and confused in Minneapolis... or more accurately "Vaped and confused..." :tumble:

First off, Welcome!

I happened to upgrade my GS to a Triton too; what are the odds? :D (You'll retire your GS, indefinitely ;) )

Nicotine is absorbed differently, with an e-cig. It happens through your mouth and throat, not (so much) your lungs. So yeah, you were doing it wrong :p

If you suspect you're getting too much nic, then by all means back off, until you get the right level.

If you find that your juices are too strong, you can mix them with zero nic juice of the same flavor, to get to the nic level you want. Nothing is wasted.

Keep us posted!

Well, the answer may have been obvious to everyone else... but I have been so damn high off nicotine since Saturday, it took me until I wrote this post to realize it would be as easy as inhaling my smoke deeply to see if I got high off a real cig... duh!!!

I just went outside and took a few deep inhales with a Camel Ultralight... SURPRISE!!! I got just as high as I have been getting off the Green Smoke with only mouth hits (no inhaling, just mouth suck and blowing the vapor out).

Looks like Zero nicotine for this guy (or diluting some 0.6% juice down to super low levels)... unless someone has a vaping technique for me to minimize nicotine absorption ;)

Welcome to ECF! Congratulations on switching from cigarettes to vaping but I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering from nicotine overload.

With vaping nearly all the nicotine is absorbed through your mouth and nasal passages rather than your lungs. With smoking, as you have discovered, the nicotine is absorbed in the lungs. Until you can get some zero nic juice to cut down the juice you have to a tolerable nicotine level exhale your vape very quickly to minimize nicotine absorption and vape less frequently.

.. I thought about some Fusion to tame down the flavor and the nicotine, but I just looked and Fusion isn't offered with Zero nicotine :grr:
I'll be damned; you're right! It doesn't matter though; with the mix you need, you would have muted the flavors.

If it's any help... Once you have 15 posts here, you can register to access the Classified Section here, and sell your 12 mg/mL Halo sampler. There's always a buyer for Halo juices. Maximize your price by leaving your 12 mg sampler unopened.

I'm not sure you'd even want the 6 mg sampler; why not just stick with 0 nic? Figure out what you like without nic first, sort out your next order later?

As sad as this sounds... I think these Green Smokes have gotten me addicted to nicotine... I mean wholly crap... what a fun nicotine buzz ;-)

I think I can explain why my smoking has been so pathetic, I have always been very active... lifting weights, jogging, cycling, rollerblading, skiing etc... so I guess I naturally just do not inhale deep because, in general, I am a shallow breather when I am at rest. Which explains why after 26 years of smoking I have never had coughing problems, shortness of breath or any other smoking related conditions that seem to be normal for people who have smoked for a similar amount of time...

I have always smoked outside or in my bathroom with the fan on... That was back when I was a single parent in my early twenties and I didn't want to be outside with my baby inside all my himself ;-)

Any info on ingestion of vapor residue? I have looked, but as of yet I have not found anything...

The reason I ask is that my smoking ritual always includes either a cup of tea, cold drink or an adult beverage. Never liked the smoke taste in my mouth and cigs always taste better with a beverage anyways ;-)

One thing I have noticed so far is that the pg/vg vapor does tend to coat the mouth (as I have read it will do)... so I am wondering if maybe the fact I am washing my vape down my throat with a beverage could be contributing to the massive of buzz I am getting off a GS Flavormax Tobacco Gold Ultra 0.6%?

Please understand I am still blown away by the buzz I am getting off of these suckers

Even when I smoked that Camel UtraLight earlier and inhaled as deeply as I could a few times... it is no where near the buzz I am getting off of just one tiny hit from the GS.

Still Vaped and Confused... :tumble:

Aphro is just my company name abbreviated (Aphrodite Cu29)... In retrospect, with my newly obtained knowledge, I guess I should see if the user name "Poser" is taken :smokie:

Apparently in my old age I have regressed into not even inhaling my cigs and therefore I no longer have any addiction to nicotine... but damn I love smoking!!! Or at least my personal ritual of smoking, but not inhaling deep enough to even get a nicotine high ;-)

I am now a 100% vaping convert... smoking doesn't hold a candle to the joys of vaping. The Flavormax cartos are super yummy and from what I have read it only gets better when using clearomizers and higher quality juice. Like I stated before, Halo Triton arrives tomorrow and I am hoping the 1.2% sample tins I ordered do not kick my ....! I will most likely just sample the Tribeca that is included. If the nicotine is too much, I will contact Halo and see if they would be willing to sell me the same (Tobacco and Variety) tins at 0.0%. Then all I will need is the Fusion 0.6% to spike the flavors as I need...
