Smoked for roughly 10 years. I had quit for a year and started back up again a few years ago. About 2-3 years ago I walked into a local smokeshop to buy a pack of cigarettes and saw some cig-a-like No. 7 ecigs. Asked the guy behind the counter and he let me try one with a tester tip. Ended up coming back and getting one of their kits which included one battery, 5 catridges, charger. Stopped using it for a while because I kept overloading carts or didn't give it enough time before vaping, which lead to me getting juice in my mouth. After a while I just stopped using it and went back to analogs, occasionally I would buy prefilled cartomizers of the same brand sometimes but they ran $15 for two and didn't last more than a day each. So I just kept smoking analogs.

Earlier this year I was just so fed up at my inability to quit smoking, I even tried patches but was able to smoke with one on with no dizziness like many people described to me. I maybe smoked less but they were also very expensive and annoying with the irritation of the skin. So I figured I would look into ecigs again. Got online and started googling and found out about the egos which had come onto the market. Ordered a kit from myfreedomsmokes.com which consisted of 2 1000mah ego batteries, charger and 4 stardusts. It worked decently, enough to get me to stop smoking cigarettes. I then upgraded to some mini vivi novas and kanger protanks. Also ordered an ego twist and was quite set for the past few months. Lots of people at a bar I frequent use ego setups.

Also one guy I met through a friend uses mods with rbas and carto tanks exclusively. So i've picked his brain a bit. Ended up finally ordering a zmax v5 and a liquinator 3ml carto tank about a week ago. Couldn't be happier. When I started this whole journey I was determined to not turn this into a hobby as I didn't need another hobby to soak up funds, so I try to keep it to a minimum. Plan to try a phiniac carto tank next for juices that don't play so well with the plastic tanks. And I REALLY want an epipe. I had tried some boge cartos on my egos and wasn't enthused. Really love the carto tanks though, so i'm hoping I can get a small carto tank to use on an epipe.

Just have to see Texas for me to chime in:thumbs:Welcome and congrats on your first steps. I did the same, smoked with a patch. I was a heavy smoker,2.5 pks a day. 250.00 a month and problems breathing, not to mention the choking fits, where I thought I would not be able to catch my breath. That was 2.6 years ago. Vaping may not be cheap. I bought a tempurpedic, but boy do I sleep well, one thing you will notice when you are off the cigs. My gym membership cost 70.00 a month, could not swim one full lap when I started, now swim a 1/2 mile 4-5 days a week. I can smell a fart in a tornado. Everything taste better, gained 45lbs. I was 145lbs @6'2,now 190lbs. normal weight. This does work!! It just takes finding the right set. I went from Blu to Ego1100s with a Ce-4,to a Carto tank with an Ego,to a Vamo,to the Provari and it is worth every penny. Don't buy one till you have been off cigs and realize you have quit. It took me 2.6 years to get to the Provari, but there ain't no going back. Good luck to you:toast: and happy vape trails:vapor:

Thanks guys. I already know there is no way i'll go back to smoking analogs. I've had maybe 4 since I started vaping exclusively mostly just to see how bad they tasted to me now... and I was usually drinking. But I have no problem just puffing on my pv while drinking now. Each time it was 1 cigarette and I never had the urge to buy a pack. And i'm fine with hobbies but firearms and archery take up enough of my money :)

Hi Dirtyrice,

Thanks for sharing your story...and the varieties of equipment you've tried. Sounds like you've found a new hobby which is way better than analogs for your health. I've been vaping for about 3 weeks and, like you, am wondering if this will become a hobby. Reading about all the gear, options, mods, varieties puts "the wants" in my head, while the truth is that I am satisfied with the kit I am using.

It sounds like you are analog free, so congrats on that. I lurked in this forum for a while to gather information and help me with my decision to vape. This place has been great !
