Hey all,

Pretty much brand new to vaping - started a week from last Thursday. In that time have grown to absolutely love it - haven't touched an analog since.

My setup is currently an Innokin ITazte VV 3.0 with an Aspire nautilus clearomizer. It's been working great for me so far.

Been lurking around these forums for quite some time now, and have gotten some helpful hints on starting out. So I'd like to take this time to thank you all for that right here.. lol

Am proud and very excited to be a new member of the vaping community. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Susan,

Despite having a B+M vape shop close to here, I haven't really discovered too many people in this area that are avid vapers. I am finding that a lot of people know more about vaping than I thought initially .. the reactions I've gotten have all been positive when they see the mod in public.

I've been learning pretty much as I go with this, it's quickly becoming somewhat of a second hobby for me. Along with learning the mechanics of vaping (hardware, mods, etc) ..

I'm also trying to get into a "routine" as far as making the transition from smoking analogs to vaping ... I'm finding I'm a heavy vaper, even at 24 mg nicotine, so I learned that until I build a collection of different juices, like so many people seem to have, that I'm going to have to either order bigger bottles, or ease up a bit...lol ... I'm also finding that when they say more PG = more of a throat hit .. they really mean it. LOL

Even so, a 30 ml bottle of juice lasts me 2 weeks, and at 12 dollars a bottle, it's amazingly cheaper than cigarettes, which are about 10 dollars a pack. I smoked a pack a day, so ... the benefits are already showing themselves money wise.

Spend too much time on this site reading and that could all change. There is so many new products hitting the market to money will fly out of your hands without even trying.

15mls a weeks is pretty good. Some of these new sub-ohm clearomisers will drink up 15mls/day if you use them exclusively. I do some DIYing so that helps. I probably go through 6-10mls/day, averaging 3mg nic. But I have been doing this 8+ years so I am not so much addicted to nic but still enjoying the flavors and the hand to mouth inhaling sensation.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! If you think it's cheaper than cigarettes now, wait till you get into building your own coils and making your own juices.. Once you've settled on your hardware, you can save a great deal more if you take either (or both) of those two routes. Of course, not everyone chooses to, but they can both be a lot of fun. The most important thing, I think, is having fun with it - it keeps you engaged and away from the ciggies!

Oh, believe me .. I'm a tinkerer by nature, and the more youtube videos I watch, and the more I read up on the different mods and products coming out, the more I'm like "I want to try everything" ... It's been crazy! lol

Good to know I'm not over-doing it. I got the Nautilus because I had been using a Kanger Aerotank mini, and I found that I was able to suck up a 1.6 ml tank of juice in a day. Went to said B+M store above, showed them that set up, told them I was looking for a bigger tank.... he brings out the Nautilus with the 5ml tank ... and I'm like "yeah ... that should work...LOL"

That's good to know that I'm not over-doing it though. Once I get a collection of different juices I like I think I'll relax about it a little - I've been a little bit worried about running out, especially while I'm still transitioning over.

Hey Doc,

Welcome to the forum. New user here, 2 or 3 year vaper.

I'm jealous of your 30ml a week hobby. I used to use 5ml of juice @18mg, or 24mg if it was a tobacco blend. But after upgrading from an emow mega to a Subtank, I go through 15ml a day (counting orchid use) of 12mg.

It's fine though, may be a lot to some but I've known worse, and compared to 40 cig a day habit I used to carry around with me the improvements are really noticable.

Due to cost as a motive, and the eagerness to learn and do something new I soon will have all the stuff I need to start forming my own concoctions. Blueberry, peach, apple, some sweetener, some pie crust, and several other goodies are crawling their way from Florida to my residence so I can create my own mixes.

The price of admission was so low I couldnt believe how affordable it will to be vaping 15ml a day.

Anyways, welcome!

And it's kind of ironic, despite having done this for only a week, what finally made me join up and start posting was the fact that there was a question on one of the other boards about juice leaking out of the airflow holes on the nautilus. Made me feel good that even though I wasn't able to answer the question, I knew the fix already. So I guess I'm not as much of a newb as I thought anymore. (quick learner maybe?) lol

I know what you mean, I recently learned that firing the orchid upside down after filling it 2 or 3 short bursts prevents it from leaking out the air holes when you turn it right side up after filling. When I experienced the slight drippage I already knew the fix when I refilled it.

Vaping has a way of satisfying that part of my brain that likes to see solutions, along with many other things. I like not being helpless and this forum is a great resource.

Yep, same for the Nautilus. Mine leaked because I didn't have the tank tightened to the coil head enough before i flipped it right side up. Juice leaked into the coil area, I'm guessing ... etc etc

What was your reaction the first time you got a shot of raw juice in your mouth? Also happened the same day as the above scenario, and I nearly died. lol

Oh man, I was told a long time ago to give my old Protank 2 with adjustable airflow 2 or 3 good pulls with the air off to prime a new coil. Well was I ever surprised to have just sucked a chimney full of juice in. I coughed gagged and spit at the same time. I had pulled in a wee tad bit to hard to prime. But I learned how to prime and prep my coils like a pro since lol.

The best comparison I can make to what raw juice tastes like (and I'm guessing it's different with different juices) is ...rubbing alcohol mixed with rat poison... with some menthol thrown in there for good measure. You only have to have that happen once in order for you to make sure it never happens again. LOL

I'm also noticing (and this could be my imagination) ... I seem to get a better vape when my tank is like 1/2 to 1/3 full. Is it just me? or is this something known? The tank just seems to like it better.

I personally cannot tell much if any a difference with the tanks being 1/2 full or not. On a new coil I can, cause after half a tank the coil seems broken in well.

I am also the type of person that doesn't leave the house without a full 6ml tank and get nervous when it drops below half way. Same with batteries I charge em at half life and use 4400mah battery so I can at least be prepared for an all day adventure when I walk out the door. I use up more charge cycles that way but at least I can vape. I buy a new mod at least once a year so it's ok.
